Zeppelins vs. Pterodactyls sounds almost as good as Tyrannosaurs in F-14s!
During the production of King Kong (the 2005 version), Peter Jackson provided fan site KongIsKing.net with production updates from the set in New Zealand. On April Fools’ Day, he claimed he was doing two back-to-back sequels, King Kong: Son of Kong and King Kong: Into the Wolf’s Lair, which would be about the discovery of Kong’s son (similar to the 1933 follow-up Son of Kong) and his fighting Nazis during World War II. One of the supposed promotional pictures depicted humans riding Son Of Kong with machine guns attached to his back. Now that would be a fun film.
The guy who was going to do Zeppelin vs. Pterodactyles switched to a more ambitious film , The Primevals, which was partly filmed (and a teaser short made) ages ago. He died, and there was talk of finishing the work, but it hasn’t happened yet. The film popped up in the “Unreleased films” thread a couple of weeks ago:
Here’s a clip from it. In today’s CGI world, uit looks pretty primitive:
These apes, tell me - are they ill-tempered?
