Never mind the furthermore, then plead the self-defense.

Mister Dobolina, Mister Bob Dobolina,
Mister Bob Dobolina ya make me sick
The little two-timer resembles Aunt Jemima

It is of my opinion that the people are intending.

Moggy: It’s actually
Nevermind the furthermore, the plea is self-defense.

Minor difference, and I only know it because I know the source. In the movie Oklahoma! at the end, after Jud dies, there’s talk about interrupting Curley’s honeymoon for a trial. The judge will have none of that and asks Curley “Did ya do it?”

Curley replies “Well, I was tryin’ to protect myself, and furthermore”

Whereupon the judge cuts him off and says “Nevermind the furthermore, the plea is self-defense. I agree. Not guilty!”

I wonder if any of the other three lines came from anywhere?

Fenris, curious now…

I had no idea about Oklahoma.

Mister Dobolina is a rap by Del tha Funky Homo Sapien. From his album “I Wish My Brother George Could See Me.”

And long before that, there was a Monkees song called “Zilch” that had the lyrics cited.

See http://www.monkees.net/DOCS/LYRICS/ZILCH.htm .

And if you look up the Monkees album Headquarters over at Amazon (link), you can hear a snippet (well, pretty much the whole damn thing) of Zilch!

It is of my opinion that the people were intending this song to be just a bunch of vocal exercises to help the lads work on their elocution (say any of them ten times fast). Kinda like “He thrusts his fists against the post, he still insists he sees a ghost.” Remember, HQ was the album where they started writing and playing a lot of their own stuff.

IIRC, according to the liner notes on the Headquarters CD the lines were just random stuff the guys heard while on tour.
Zilch, zilch, zilch, zzzziilllch…

This song popped into my head just last week. I still have the original album that I wore out SO many years ago. I’m a pretty new doper (don’t post very much), but am really feeling right at home now. Too weird…

I wasn’t quite sure that I had the line right, but it was the only one I could remember at the time! Groovy to know that there are others who like the more ‘obscure’ Monkees stuff (not just Last Train to Clarksvile and all).
