ZoneAlarm Pro, XP and Multiple users...

I’m running ZoneAlarm Pro (Just upgraded to V.3) on an XP system with 2 user accounts. (One for Trin and I, and the other for my son.)

I have found that when I go into my sons account, ZA doesn’t start up properly. ‘zapro’ shows up in the ‘process’ window, but TrueVector (Which it requires) does not.

What gives?

(And, on another note, what causes my MemTurbo to load up twice in my sons account?)

It might have something to do with access permissions for your son’s account, specifically, that you are an Administrator on the computer, and he may be only a Limited User. I don’t know if you really want to be giving your son complete Administrative privileges on your computer, but you might try it and log in as him to see if that fixes the problem. If that’s the case, I’m pretty sure you can set up programs to run with different privileges. That way, ZoneAlarm could run with Administrator’s privilege, and your son would still have his normal account.

Then again, this could all just be wild and unfounded speculation on my part…

Oh, and another thing you might check is the Startup directory, to see if maybe there’s something under your account that isn’t in his account. If Truevector is in there for you and not him, you can move it to the All Users startup directory (under C:\Documents and Settings) and that way it will start up in either account.

If you need a better explanation of that, just let me know… I didn’t get much sleep last night and I’m a little loopy.
