Sorry if I misspelt nemesis, but anyway, I go with Daffy Duck. Even though a lot of his best work came in episodes without Bugs.

Yosmite Sam is a close second.

Marvin the Martian. He was my favorite, too. Next would be the Tasmanian Devil.

I've always, always wanted to see Daffy Duck get one over on Bugs! I love the episode when Bugs is in Scotland and is playing golf vs. Scot. Rocky & Mugsy episodes are great when Bugs is hiding them also plays the Irish-accented police! All of the Yosemite Sam episodes are HILARIOUS! "Dragons is so stupid!"

I hate it that Disney has the Saturday morning broadcast rights and has edited many of them of their violent content.

I always found Daffy to be cool. The funniest thing to me is when "Mrs Daffy" would say "Shud up or I'll smack the beak right off you." and he'd make some comment and then she'd smack his beak and it would spin around or wind up on the floor or on top of his head too fun.

Have you all forgotten the obvious:

Elmer J. Fudd, millionaire. He owns a mansion and a yacht!

Gotta go with Marvin. It's a tie for second between Taz & Sam. My favorite Bugs cartoons, though, don't have these nemeses (nemesi?) in them. "Rabbit of Seville," and "What's Opera, Doc?" starring Bugs & Elmer, and the hands-down best Daffy cartoon ever made, "Duck Amuck."

We're pretty quickly building a concensus here...

Marvin the Martian. Head like a bowling ball, hat like a Roman Centurian, voice like a Helium Salesman, plotting to destroy the earth. Perfect!

Yeah, Marvin and to have a big hairball as a trusty sidekick, way too cool.

I love Marvin. He is very cool!

"Where is the Earth-shattering kaboom? There was supposed to be an Earth-shattering kaboom." - Marvin the Martian

So, he would be my all time favorite. BUT for favorite common nemesis it has to be Elmer. "The Barber of Seville" is a classic.

The big hairball was the sidekick of the mad scientist ("cooooome baaaaaaack heeere buuuuunny raaaaabbit"). The martian had the dog with the beanie and the vulture-looking instant martians- just add water.

The orange monster with the big tennis shoes. Remember "Monsters are such iiinnnnteresting people".

"The Rabbit of Seville" is my favorite Bugs cartoon, plus I can do a killer Marvin the Martian impersonation as well as the Little Ceaser's Pizza Pizza guy.

As you can tell from my sig, it would be the one, the only, Mr. Yosemite Sam. Daffy was okay, Elmer was an idiot, but Sam was cool. Why? Because he started out in fifth gear and pumped it up from their. Also, I loved the fact that he couldn't resist a challenge.

Cast your mind back to "Bugs Bunny Rides Again." Y. Sam is the villian, the roughest toughest varmint this side of the Rio Grande, and he ain't no namby-pamby (trivia--this line was changed; it was originally "and I don't mean Mahatma Ghandi"). He tells Bugs to dance, Bugs naturally does a full buck-and-wing tap dance. When Bugs challenges Sam to a dance, not only does our man pull off a great show-stopping performance, but exits with a flourish. Go Sam Go.

Marvin is the best, but my second favorite would have to be the witch (what was her name? Broomhilda?).

My favorite--Pete Puma ("Rabbit's Kin"). Bugs helped this little bunny evade the gushing slob Pete. Pete would end what he thought was a sly remark with an inhaled chortling sound, like this:
"HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH!!!!"
At the end, Pete wants to "fricassee" the little rabbit, with help from his second cousin Paul Puma (Bugs in disguise). Bugs asks how many lumps [of coal?] he wants and Pete drawls, "Oh, you better give me a lotta lumps! A wholllllle lotta lumps!" Bugs is about to clobber Pete, who grabs the club and says, Oh no you don't! I'll help myself!" and proceeds to conk himself several times on the noggin! Bugs and the little bunny leave; Bugs says, "We'd better get outta here, Shorty--he's too smart for us! Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh!!!"

Pete Puma was voiced by the great Stan Freburg, who also did the voice of the Abominable Snowman: "I'm going to get my own bunny rabbit, and I will name him George and I well hug him and squeeze him and love him and pet him and...."

Oh, THAT was Stan Freberg? I knew he did the voice for Pete Puma...I thought the character you mentioned was from a "Screwball Squirrel" cartoon (from MGM). "Duh...I HAD a little friend...but he don't move no more." The dead Screwball Squirrel holds up a sign reading, "Sad ending, isn't it?"

Well the greatest has to be Elmer. But I like some of the lesser used ones, too:

-Wile E. Coyote, Super Genius
-The Tortoise (I forget his name.)
-The Gremlin (IIRC, the Gremlin and the Tortoise are the only ones who ever got the better of Bugs.)
-The Peter-Lorre Mad Scientist character
-The little penguin (more of a foil than a foe)

The tortoise's name was Cecil.

Elmer was great only when the writer's gave him a lot of L's to say: "That was a wovewy weg of wamb." "Owivia DeHaviwand?" And, of course, "You wascawy wabbit!"

Martin the Martian??? Pete Puma??? Man, they have got to be the two most ANNOYING Looney Tunes characters ever drawn. Yeeesh.

Yosemite Sam. Closely followed by Elmer J. Fudd. Taz and Wile E. Coyote tie for third.

And Foghorn Leghorn (although he wasn't really a Bugs nemesis).

Marvin the Martian was my fave. I also loved the robot that Elmer Fudd (?) unleashed on Bugs. You know, the one where Bugs made the robot rusty by running around in circles around a sprinkler? Absolutely hilarious! I'm still laughing.

I'll have to give Witch Hazel her due here. In "Broomstick Bunny," she whipped up a potion to make her rival (Bugs in a witch costume) pretty! He tricked her into drinking it herself, and she turned into the kind of knockout who could make the wolf in the MGM cartoons propose to her on the spot!! Witch Hazel's magic-mirror genie did a Bob Hope "rowr!" when he saw Witch Hazel's new look, and as Bugs called them, they were "A genie with light brown hair chasin' a flyin' sorceress!"

Bugs actually got too conceited at the end of the cartoon run. I mean in the beginning he didn't always win.

Once he was asking Granny "Who'll play the Easter Bunny?" (Daffy wanted it of course) I mean for God's sake his is the ONLY rabbit in the series. Who do you think will get the part. He was too self serving at the end.

I liked ol' Wile E. Coyote when he was after Bugs. For some reason he lost the power of speech going up against the Roadrunner. Must be from the chemicals he snorted from all the Acme Products he ordered over the years.

Some of my favorites were the lesser-known one-timers such as:

The Vampire episode - Bugs singing "ladadadidadaladidadaladida hocus poooocus" and the vampire changes into the bat at a most inopportune moment (i.e. with a huge rock overhead) HILARIOUS!

The SuperBugs toon - the cowboy (I think his name was Dastardly Dan or something similar) and his horse were absolutely idiotic - a perfect counterpart to Bugs' savvy.
