Um...Denver Dopers still planning to show me a good time?

Last month, there was a thread suggesting a get-together for Denver-area Dopers. I suggested Friday, Feb. 18, because I'll be in Denver on business that week and could show up. We were talking about congregating at the bar in the Adam's Mark Hotel and then either staying or moving along to another location.

Count me in as "probably" - the reason being that SO is moving around then, and brother is coming in town. I don't think either of these two things will interfere, but I won't know until sooner to the date. It'd be fun to get down there, definitely!

I just suggested the Adam's Mark because that's the hotel I'm staying at (it's where they're holding my company's conference.) the NAACP thing is actually about a different branch of the hotel and the Denver location has never been accused of any wrongdoing, so I'm told by my boss. Besides, we don't want to start in a place that's too rowdy or we'll never find each other. better we should congregate someplace calm like a hotel bar and then go someplace fun en masse.

The night of choice for me is Friday, Feb. 18. My conference will be mostly over by then and I can let my hair down without worrying about being up at dawn the next day. I'm flying out Saturday evening around six, so that's out unless you all want to meet at the airport. No? Didn't think so.

And one more thing: I'm the guest of honor, not the fewkin' host. You people are supposed to show me a good time (wink-wink), not look to me for leadership. *grin*

Another possibility for mirth that would be fun to report to the board afterward: Friday night, my conference is throwing a big party with music by a band called the 4 Nikators. Depending on how many people show up, I can probably sneak us in...

If not, well, I'd rather be with a bunch of Dopers than a bunch of radio salesmen.
