Do Denver Dopers want to jump on the Bandwagon?

Anybody want to try to meet up? All the cool kids are doing it.

Hmmm… could be fun. How many of us are there, and where is everyone?

I’m in Boulder/Longmont.

Denver Dopers! You have a rare opportunity to meet with one of your Texan brethren if you’ll hold off for about six weeks. I will be in Denver Feb. 16-19 for my company’s big conference and could probably break away some evening, e.g. Friday night, to meet up witcha. Or if you don’t want to delay the big get-together, which I completely understand, maybe I can still get together with someone for dinner or something. Keep me posted.

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m all for waiting for Chef Troy to come in town. Now, we just gotta find a place where we can tie him down and force him to cook for us.

Friday the 18th works for me. I have out of town company coming in on the 19th, so that’s out.

Waiting gives us plenty of plan time - no problem-o.

PS: I’m in Gunbarrel

I’m flying out on the 19th, so Friday night would be the latest for me too unless we met at the airport. And hey…if someone wants to volunteer kitchen facilities, I WILL cook, although I’d prefer to be fêted with the pomp and ceremony that is my due. grin

I’ll be staying at the Adam’s Mark Hotel, so we can either meet near there or maybe someone could pick me up…

Hmmm… downtown Denver? How 'bout one of those nifty brewpubs, like the Wynkoop? I think that’s within walking/cheap taxi ride distance of the Adam’s Mark. I’m not super familiar with downtown, so pipe up anyone with a better idea.

Any place on the 16th street mall is within walking distance of the Adams Mark hotel. The only problem is that it’s teeming on friday nights. I work at DIA so maybe I’ll see 'ya when you come in.

Wow, so many of us… Had no idea Colorado was so full of dope… I mean dopers…
I’m up in beautiful Louisville.

Another possibility: I’m sure the Adam’s Mark itself has a bar in it. Maybe we could meet there and then decide what to do next.

Back to the top wi’ye.

A Colorado get together sounds like fun! I have company coming to town on Feb 17 to help me celebrate my 40th birthday (the 18th). We already have plans for that entire weekend. If another date is decided I’ll sure try to make it.

They’re not Hot Flashes,
They’re Power Surges!

Saudi Auroran here. The bar in the Adam’s Mark is pretty cool. It used to be Fitzgerald’s on 16th St Mall. ALTHOUGH I have a big problem with the hotel, since they never called me back on a job interview. Plus their pending lawsuit makes the seem shady.
On second thought, howzabout Duffy’s?

“That was a hell of a thing.”

Regarding the lawsuit you mention: it was apparently filed against another hotel in the Adam’s Mark chain, and the Denver location has never been accused of any wrongdoing.

I don’t know duffy’s from Adam’s off ox, in fact I’ve never been in Denver before, so I’ll leave the location up to those of you who know the area…but the one place I guarantee I’ll be able to find is my own hotel. Plus if I just have to stagger to the elevator in order to get home, I’ll be able to drink more…and I’ll be funnier. grin

And if anyone else cares to pop in, I offer these words from TheTrip.com’s site:
Michael Jackson, the world’s foremost beer journalist, ranks Denver among the top three beer towns in the country, as do many other brew pros. With more in-town breweries per square block than any other U.S. city, it’s understandable why. Wynkoop Brewing led the city’s craft beer (and Lower Downtown) revival, opening its taps in 1988. It serves British-style beers to elbow-to-elbow crowds of beer drinkers and pool-playing singles. Discerning beer geeks head to Broadway Brewing, for the best brewhouse selection in town. It includes a dozen in-house offerings and a short list of well-chosen guest drafts. Breckenridge Brewing, the Denver Chophouse and the original Rock Bottom are other downtown brewpubs. The largest beer list in Denver is at Falling Rock Taphouse, where you’ll find a 60-plus “no crap on tap” roster of local, national and international beers.

“That was a hell of a thing.”

Are there so few of us in the rocky mountain region?

I am a Coloradoan, but due to my current financial constraints, a trip to Denver and having a $5.00 beer is out of the question for me.

Hopefully I will be out of the bad finances situation come summer, then I will be more than happy to attend a local SD function

Yes Dbear, and sshhhh, we’re trying to keep it that way.
Hey Techchick we could meet you partway. There’s a decent Mexican restarant in Castle Rock.

“That was a hell of a thing.”

Hmmm… Castle Rock is a little too far for me. I mean, I wanna meet you straight dopers, but from Longmont that’s about an hour and fifteen minutes. A little long for an evening, especially one that includes drinking.

Count me in for anything downtown Denver or north, otherwise I must bow out.

Thanks Az, I would hate for others to have to drive a long way. I will wait for summer, I am expecting an investment check in April so I will be better off financially then!
