Hmmmm, that's an interesting list. I find it hard to believe that a Courtney Love Forum beats the SDMB with more posts and 100,000+ more members! I bet the slow speed of this board is a factor...

I think it says a lot that 2 major boards are people trying to get laid...

And that Starwars is #4. I don't frequent any of the other top boards but I wonder just how their community compares to ours. We're a fairly well knit group for the most part, I'm more of an outskirter due to my common lurking but there really is a lot of community here.

Corvette and Courtney Love fans I can see. And I could probably accept the idea that there are enough fans of some Argentinian soap opera named "Chiquititas" to support a board that's in the top 20. But can this show really have over ten thousand dedicated Hebrew speaking fans?

Dude. Have you ever talked to an Impreza owner? It's all they talk about. You'll get to hear about every single detail of their (obviously fully customized) car. The exhaust. The turbo pressure. The modified chipset for the engine management. The aftermarket Quaiffe differential. The huge two foot spoiler on the boot.

Seriously. I'd rather have 20 Jehova's witnesses on crack ringing my doorbell on Sunday morning at 7.


I also note that two boards out of the top 10 are Dutch. Which is interesting, seeing as we're only 16 million people, and the Dutch language isn't spoken outside our country, Flanders, Suriname, the Antilles, and arguably parts of South Africa.
