In this thread you close an otherwise informative post by saying
So what’s with the snarky? It doesn’t appear that anyone who responded before you gave wrong information; in fact many of your points were made prior to your post. If someone gave wrong advice, point it out specifically; don’t shit in the thread with that kind of noise.
Philster stated in the begining of his post something to the effect that he worked for a credit reporting company. I felt that his post was informative and valuable. The comment to which you object seemed to be the simple truth. He works for a credit reporting agency, which no previous poster claimed, therefore he was not guessing. He had inside information. I for one appreciate that he took the time to share it.
The implication to me was that the people who posted before he did were guessing. Perhaps I’m the only one who took it that way. I’ll never criticise someone here for offering accurate information, but of the five non-snarky points he offered, two of them were offered by others first. No one appeared to be guessing. Hence, my wonder at the snark.
Hey this IS the Pit. I will not defend Philster again, if he doesn’t feel the need then neither do I. But Otto shouldn’t you have at least called me a scum sucking fucktard, at least twice?
I will probably get in trouble for this for a couple of reasons. First there will be several people who are going to say this should be addressed in the GQ forum and not in the pit. Second, several nit wits are going to post saying yea but you didn’t spell it correctly. Thirdly, I am not to good at computer stuff and the following tip may be just stupid.
That said, here is how I do it. start at the page to which you want to Link to. Select the URL from the address bar, click right mouse button, select Copy. Then in the Reply Thread, click the edit option that looks like a globe with a chain link under it. Type the name you want displayed hit Enter. Paste the URL you copied from the page to which you want to Link in the next window that pops up then hit enter again. The link appears in the body of your text. Maybe a stupid way to do it but it gets the job done.
Damn. I got pitted over the weekend when my PC was busy crashing browsers?
Sumbitch!
ALRIGHT! “Ta-Da” was meant to imply that it was gift wrapped advice.
I roughed up Trudi because she seemed condescinding in a thread that wasn’t looking for that advice.
As to any other snarky in my posts from that thread, you have to see some other threads about credit. People have ideas that are just all over the place, and others gobble up their advice like it’s magic.
