Was it fun? Were you nervous? Did you get any good swag? Would you do it again? Come on dish!

Yesterday's match was great; I hope yours can live up to the Final Jeopardy yesterday. It's always more exciting to watch when all three go in with a chance to win.

Hope you did well! Or at least made the SDMB proud. Did you mention Cecil or this place?

Rooting for you-- unsure whether that works in retrospect, as you probably know already how things went.

Congratulations on making it to the show. Lots of disappointed hopefuls are out there.

I'll be watching tonight with my family, wouldn't miss this one for anything!

I would be terrified. I'm one of those people who freeze up when you ask me a question point-blank, even if I know the answer.

Teacher: "Eve, who assassinated Abraham Lincoln?"

Eve: "I dunno! I didn't do it!!"

That's the wonderful thing about Jeopardy! Eve-- they supply the answer, all you have to do is come up with the question.

I hope you had very good luck Frank. Any special viewing plans?

And as always, any of you Dopers who have ever dreamed of appearing on Jeopardy!, I would advise you to go for it. I mean, a goofball like me was able to blunder his way into 5 Jeopardy! wins.

I had to settle for second place.

Of course, the consolation prize was a week at the Wyndham El Conquistador in Fajardo, Puerto Rico.

Mrs. Moto and I used it as a honeymoon.

I encourage all Dopers to try out for Jeopardy. Even total failures get to keep the cool Jeopardy pens.

I'd rather go on Wheel of Fortune. I watch Jeopardy! a lot, but I can't answer questions (question answers? whatever) correctly often enough to not embarrass the hell out of myself. I'm super good at WoF though.

FRANKIE!!!

Ya done good!
Wasn't the Final Jeopardy question screwed up? "What city's capitol had it's blah blah lowered 3 inches blah blah blah..."

I wasn't aware a city had a capitol. Shouldn't that have been "What state's capitol...?"

Amazing! You did well, and I hope you enjoyed the vacation.

I'd love to be on J!, but I'm too old for kids' Jeopardy! and too young for the college edition.

Thanks!

And, as Frank said during the interview portion, the residents have no plans to change the name, as it's gotten the town a bit of publicity during the ongoing unpleasantness in Iraq.

I passed the Jeopardy! audition once, but wasn't selected to appear on the show. Hope that I'll acquit myself at least as well as AugestWest did when/if I finally make the cut!

Thanks very much, everyone.

The city/capital issue didn't register with me at the time, but it did ring alarm bells when I was watching tonight.

Make sure you watch tomorrow night so you can see me get frustrated when I can't ring in on time!

Go Frank!!! You're sorta cute, btw, in that "I'm married so I'd never even consider it but yes he's adorable" kind of way.

Anyone else wondering if Frank told Trebek to suck it?

Yes, you're right, of course.

I don't remember if the question was "What city's capitol...?" or "What city's capital...?" The answer (Denver) only makes sense if it were the former. If the question was "capital", then it should have been "What state's capital...?"
Does anyone know which way they spelled it?

Sorry if I seem so hung up on this, but this is the first time I've noticed anything like this on Jeopardy. They're usually quite precise.

I was on Jeopardy three times and I blew off watching it on TV. This is not because I’m so cool, but because the shows were on at 2:00 AM. I did tape them, but the TV station screwed up and showed a public service announcement over one of the Final Jeopardy questions. By the way, if you think listening to a tape recording of your voice is awkward, you should watch yourself sweating it out on TV.

I never got no stinking pen though.

This did not happen while I was there, but I am a big guy and reasonably confident that I could take Alex. Also, my taping was on a Tuesday after he had been in a fairly serious auto accident the previous Saturday. So he was probably sore from that incident and not itchin' for a fight. He's also pretty old and may no longer desire to engage in fisticuffs with contestants. It could also be that shaving his moustache has had a Samson-like effect on him rendering unable to perform his previous feats of superhuman strength and random violence.

I started watching you, AugestWest, but you just infuriated the hell out of me by buying all those vowels when it was OBVIOUS what the puzzle was, so I turned the channel. I turned back just in time to watch you lose the Showcase Showdown. Wow, you really overestimated the cost of a trip to a Turkish prison! You should have used one of your lifelines.

It's a good thing you won the immunity challenge, because I think they'd have voted you off the island.

We can't watch the tape of Mom -- it's just...I don't know, it's not like she made an idiot of herself or anything (anything but!) but it brings back the nausea I felt sitting in the studio watching the taping. Ulp. And it's worse for her. Nonetheless, it's seriously cool.

I will definitely watch today!
