I will be joining the ranks of those Dopers who have appeared on Jeopardy! next Monday, January 18, 2010 (Martin Luther King Day). Check your TV listings for your local time and channel.
Without giving anything away, I think I can say that I met my primary goal: not humiliating myself on national television (we could use a smilie for “whew!”).
Appearing on Jeopardy! has been a goal of mine for awhile – like, an actual, serious goal. I’ve already put the online test date for the east coast (January 26) into my iPhone so I won’t miss it this year (like I did in the past).
Speaking of, what route did you use to getting on the show? L.A. audition? Brain bus? Online test?
I took the online test last January, and was invited to an audition in Boston in April. It was the third time I’d taken the online test, and the second time I’d been invited to an audition.
Actually, I am wearing a necklace with a cat (actually a kitten) charm on it, but I don’t know how apparent that will be. Middle podium. And while some people do call me Kat, I went with Kathy for the show.
Congratulations! I wish I had the balls to take the test, back when I still had most of my brain cells. I used to know a very famous Jeopardy champ, and he was always encouraging me to do it. Maybe in my next life.
Congratulations! I always wanted to do a game show. I auditioned for “Sale of the Century” about 3 times when that was on (I’m in NZ) but never made it through.
