I haven’t bought a Playboy in years, and with a couple of young kids around, don’t see myself doing it anytime soon. But I noticed that Charisma Carpenter - Cordelia of Buffy and Angel - is in it.
So - any good? She always appeared to have a great body…
Just give me your impressions so I get a sense about what I am missing…
My husband didn’t think the pics of her were all that great. I’ve seen them and read the interview (which has some Angel spoilers), but nothing really stood out in my mind (straight female, though, so I’m not the best judge of such things).
Perhaps it’s because of the internet, but I’m never that impressed with Playboy’s celebrity work. CC’s is no exception.

I found 'em pretty pedestrian. Great pics, when you figure she just had a baby. But overall, nothing to write home about.
There are some “rejected” pics from the Playboy shoot out there on the internet. She has an amazing ass, I thought. I finally had to admit my raging het-crush on her to my husband.
I thought they were great, but then, I’ve been looking at pictures like this. I doubt it’s safe for work, but there’s no naughty bits exposed. and quite frankly, I was tired of being teased…

I was disappointed by the pics, but maybe I had set my expectations too high.
The Christy Swanson and Darryl Hannah playboy pics were much better IMHO.
True. The "Lad's Mags" (Maxim, FHM...) actually manage to have far sexier celebrity pictorals. Even if there is no nudity involved. Playboy has really gone downhill in the quality of their photography.
I mean honestly, if I were an attractive female celebrity (three things I am not), who decided to pose in the alltoghther. I think that I would want the photographer and makeup department to make me look as good as possable.I haven’t seen the actual magazine, but google up some outtakes using her name & the magazine’s title- I was mighty impressed.

More to the point, is any model in Playboy worth seeing? Maybe I’m old and jaded, but gauzy, airbrushed glamor photography doesn’t do it for me anymore; everyone Playboy photographs looks the same to me.
Well, I’ve always been a fan of Cordy-boobage, so I thought the layout was very well done. She looks great, especially as a new mom. 
Count me in as someone who was thoroughly impressed by CC’s magnificent ass. Yum.
Eh, I thought it was ok. Worth getting if (like me) you think the actress is sexy, and kinda always wanted to see her naked. I was a bit peeved at the “placement” of some of the coverings…in my opinion, if you’re gonna do nude pictures, by god go all the way. I’m not saying she should have been all spread eagle and stuff, but I find the carefully aranged coverings annoying.
That’s actually the only reason I get Playboy anymore. Just because they’ll occasionally have pictures of people that I sort of do want to see naked. Like the two girls from Survivor…
Side bar, but one of the ways that I realized that I was starting to get old was when Playboy did a shoot on Tia Carrere and my basic reaction was meh.
I thought this was one of the best celebrity pictorials they’ve done in a while. Usually when they do celebrity pictorials, they ruin everything by getting too goddamn arty – they break out the black-and-white film or dress the model in silly costumes or feature idiotic props. But this was a good, simple pictorial.
This was the first Playboy I’ve bought in years. I thought Charisma looked 100x hotter than the centerfold.
I thought the shoot was very nice, as cited above. Tasteful nudity, a great ass (especially those lace-up hot pants) and Charisma’s lovely smile. The Playmate of the month in that issue isn’t terribly attractive, but the Playmate of the Year (Carmella someone) was quite pretty. YMMV on your opinions of those gals, but the spread of Charisma is worth the cover price. I especially enjoyed sitting between two female Buffy/Angel fans (one of whom is my fiancée) as they leafed through their first ever Playboy.
My recommendation: see it with a friend.
