Many are under the mistaken impression that now that 51% of the American voting public has proven to be stoopid, everyone else will now quietly get in line and join him on his sleigh ride to hell.
Think again.
As one of the proud 48% of Americans who can still see evil when it stares you in the face, I have no intention of letting up. If I had the money, I would put full page ads in every foreign newspaper on earth, apologizing for this embarrassingly gross error in judgment
Like many Democrats, I was sad that Kerry didn’t get elected, but I was livid that Bush did. So if you think it was bad before the election, get ready for four more years of public outrage. The rabid anti-Bush fervor is far from over. If anything, knowing Bush’s track record, the outcry is only going to get worse.
I am sick to death of those assholes saying “You lost, get over it, and do what we want now.” No fucking way am I going to meekly do whatever some MORON says because half of this country are drooling idiots.
Hah. This is just classic. Do you really believe half this country consists of drooling idiots? There are so many comments like this that make people seem really closed-minded. I hope you really aren’t this biased.
They don’t need to win anybody over. In their view, might makes right nationally just like it did internationally. Over the next four years, democrats are going to experience what the Iraqi people have been experiencing over the last 18 months.
I am going to chime in here and agree that we did not need yet another thread on this subject. I also want to offer a few observations and suggestions.
**To the Democrats:**Our loyal opposition (and I am referring to the 51% of the voters that didn’t vote the way that we wanted them to)is not evil or stupid. Stop saying that. Evil is a very strong word that should be reserved for the real thing. I do believe that this administration is corrupt, misguided and irresponsible but that is a far cry from evil.
By all means, lets vent a bit. A little over half of the country disagrees with our ideals. That is harsh and it is easy to feel under siege. But let us get this venting over with as quickly as possible so that we can get on with the serious business at hand.
I believe that the Liberals have a lot to offer to the world. We are failing miserably to get our message out in a coherent and palatable way. We need to sit down and figure out why that is. We have some hard questions that we need to be asking of ourselves and our leaders. Let us not waste to much time.
To the Republicans: I just want to point out that, while as far as I can tell your guy won fair and square this time, the race was very close. 51%, in spite of what you might hear, is not a clear mandate. Very close to half of your fellow citizens do not agree with the policies of this current administration. It would be nice if you could try to be as inclusive as you can.
**To everyone:**Chill. Enjoy your victory, lick your wounds, have a martini, whatever. But once the dust settles, remember that we are all in this together.
Hate to break it to you, OP, but this is just the beginning. The next President will be a conservative, too. Get used to it.

That’s fine, in fact I encourage you to stay as pissed off as possible. You and your party can rant and rave and froth at the mouth, and we’ll come up with ideas that work, implement them and improve the country, and in 2008 you’ll get your asses stomped again.
