Quick! I need time-burning websites

It is the last day before a long holiday weekend, and things are dead, dead, dead!

Yet, I am stuck here all day. I need to be amused.

What are your favorite time wasting websites.

(Note: While my company has very liberal surfing policies, please follow SDMB SFW rules)

Thanks!

Go to My Boot and read the "She Hates My Futon" story. One of the best, most effective time-wasters ever.

(You, too, can join the ranks of people who are annoyed with the author because he's been promising us another chapter for three freaking years . . . )

I never miss a chance to plug http://www.warehouse23.com/basement/ ...

The concept? Well, the website bleongs to Steve Jackson Games, makes of the GURPS roleplaying game. One of their settings is a conspiracy genre world - and all the things the government doesn't want people to know about are kept in a secret warehouse - Warehouse 23.

So SJ Games used that for their online store. But in the *Basement*, you can search through random boxes and find user-submitted items that fit with the theme.

Think of the big warehouse at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark, where they put the Ark of the Covenant.

First time I came across this site I think I spent several hours wading through them all.

This is too late for your boring yesterday, but here's one I discovered a while back that is usable anytime. It details the proper usage and type of every traffic control device (signs, signals, pavement markings) that is allowed to be used on "streets and highways" in the U.S.A., and, in some states, on all private property open to the public. It evan has a message board "Discussion Area" for pertinent (not impertinent) questions. There's even an internal link to the "Standard Highway Signs" manual that provides all dimensions and lettering sizes and styles for every standard U.S. traffic sign. Can be useful in procuring proper signs for your properties or for trying to fight tickets for violating "nonstandard" signs. You need to check on your state's laws on the subject, though, before resorting to that. Have fun.

Fighting ignorance (mine) since 1973:
How do such url links get turned blue and underlined here and does the lack of that affect their use?

Can't believe no one has mentioned this one yet, the ultimate time-consuming website (other than SDMB): www.ebaumsworld.com Check out the videos, some of them are hysterical (mostly work-safe if you avoide the "Extreme" videos section which is separate from the funny videos section.)
