A request: more cat pictures, please!

Hello all,

I'm stuck at work on this Friday, and nothing would brighten my day more than seeing pictures of people's cats and kittens, especially if they're doing funny stuff. I haven't been able to own a cat since 2001, but I still love every cat I meet, and immediately want to play with them and give them hugs. I always enjoy seeing the cat pics you Dopers post, and it would be awesome for this thread to become a cat picture archive of sorts!

Ferret pictures are welcome too--those guys just crack me up.

I'll start: here's my buddy, who my parents had to put to sleep in 2001. I knew it was coming, but I was away at school and they didn't even tell me until I came home for Thanksgiving, a month after the fact! So I never got to say goodbye:

My l337 ha><><0r skillz aren't working today, can't figure out why I can't get the pictures all in one page. *sigh*

So here's the directory, just browse through the kitty pics as you see fit.

Here's Gateway, rather aptly named I think. Here he is again.

And some more of Zyll, and more, though nothing beats the monster pic.

Okay, hijack... but I'm desperate to find stainless steel kitty food bistros/feeders. You know, like the ones that hold 3 pounds of food. (We free feed our lot). One of ours keeps getting kitty acne, and I've read plastic can be the cause. Help, oh kitty lovers? And sorry, all my kitty pics are at home. Will try to post some later.

Not since I moved the swing so he couldn't get into it. I didn't mind him being in there -- allowing him to snuggle down in weird places makes him happy, and he doesn't pee on his "happy places" -- but I really didn't want to have to deal with a hairball. I expect to have enough kid-related schmutz going down in that swing as it is.

My black long-hair in her usual chair

My orange tabby terror trying to look innocent

My sweet, slight goofy guy

And some adorable siblings. I adopted the little girl on the right but sadly had no more room for her brother. Whoever got him has a lively little bundle of fur.

A lively bunch, yes? Or maybe not.

I've only got five of the nine enshrined online.

(Um, I didn't plan that rhyme, I swear!)

But here are my furpeople:

Orson

Ichabod

Halley

Cosmo

and

Dickens

If anyone notices, yes, Ichabod's ears are mangled. Someone cut them off, apparently for fun. So, take pity and don't say she's funny looking.

Mangled ears or not, she is a beautiful cat. All of them are - although I have to admit a weakness for little Cosmo.

9 cats? Wow.

This page is not mine - someone here posted it a few weeks back. More cute kitty pictures than you can shake a stick at. There's one that may look awfully familiar. And this is one of the funniest I've ever seen.

If not, my Y! profile is raveninred and the second album is the one with kitty.

This is the only picture I have online of any of my cats. His name was One Point Five, and he was a wonderful kitty.

If his brother would sit still long enough for a picture, I'd take one of him.

Well you said ferrets were allowed too so....

Last time it snowed I brought a panful of the white stuff in to see what the ferts would do.....
the investigation

the in depth investigation

and the frozen ferret face

Our rotund one, Chewy, not sure what to think of the snow

And our silver ferret, Chitterbug, who constantly has the "you have got to be kidding me..." face

then of course there is the mini movie

Velky

This is the puddy my mom just adopted last week. She calls him kitty but his name is either Velky or Big Al depending on who you talk to. He looks exactly like Velcro, the cat they just had to put to sleep - except that Velcro was only about 6 pounds and Velky is over 15!

Trouble is 15 years old and not too healthy. Unfortunately, he developed a severe allergy to insects of all sorts a few years ago, and if he gets bitten, he'll scratch his nose raw. That's scar tissue. I expect to lose my baby within the next 6-12 months.

Your Jakkob is gorgeous. In fact, all these babies are gorgeous!

I'm sorry to hear about Trouble, but he looks pretty good for 15! That's a good age for a cat.

Thank you for the compliment on my Jakkob. He's just new for me, and I'm still a proud mama. I love him to bits. If only he'd stop puking! Although, tonight he was polite enough to puke on the lino.

Sigh.

TroubleAgain, I saw in another thread that Trouble had died. I don't see that you have started any threads about it, but I wanted to tell you that I am sorry for your loss. It may seem kind of hard to bring up the death of your cat after hearing about START and Johnny L.A., but I know how those furry demons get to be your family members! Trouble was a beautiful kitty and I'm sure you gave him the best possible life.

Thank you, Dung Beetle. I hadn't really meant to bring it up, but I couldn't help noticing that he died on the same night as START's brother, thus the comment. I really appreciate your thoughtful message. I am handling it a bit better now, but I cried myself sick Friday night and Saturday morning. Fortunately, Rio, Molly, and Punky do a good job of distracting me and giving me plenty of kitty love.
