No, not the underground. The people who brought you the Underground Tour are presenting the Seattle Underworld Tour, now through September. The ad on page 76 of this week’s (July 6-12) Seattle Weekly says:
I’m a big fan of sin, flimflam, and Bill Speidel’s approach to Seattle history, so I want to take the tour.
It’s at 7:30 on Friday and Saturday nights. My proposal: let’s do it on Friday night, July 22 (that’s two weeks from today). Otherwise, I’ll likely have to wait until August, but we can discuss options.
Necessary details: the tour is adults only, 21+. It’s $15, which includes a cocktail at Doc Maynard’s, where the tour begins and ends. It lasts about an hour. Reservations are suggested, so once we have a head count and a firm date, I’ll call and make 'em.
And if we’re suitably inspired by yesteryear’s sin, interested parties can head to a bar and/or strip club to sample contemporary vices.
Anyone interested? July 22 work, or should we shoot for an August weekend? Friday nights work better for my brother, who’d like to go, but sufficient notice makes Saturdays possible.

I figured that anyone interested could do it after a bar stop or two. I know it wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea, so anyone interested in the Underworld tour but not a strip club would come to the former and skip the latter.
That said, it may be your last chance to get a lap dance before Nickels and the city council ban them, so seize the opportunity (well, not literally, as that gets you thrown out, I think) while it’s available.
We’re leaving town that day. Don’t worry about accomodating me at all, I was just poking my head in to see what was up. I’ll probably have to do their regular tours, which look much more plentiful, and are offered other than Fri/Sat nights.
Lady Cheek will just be coming back from Maryland around 22 July, so August seems panties for us as well. Better! Better for us. Bum! Oh! What a giveaway!

I’ll phone the tour service on Saturday – that’s this Saturday, July 30 – to reserve spaces for people who confirm that they’ll be there. People can sign up after that, but they can call the Underworld people directly to register.

Also, I just noticed that the Underworld phone number has been removed from the Underground’s web site. Hmm. I’ll try calling it to see what the deal is, and confirm before things get too crazy that the 12th will work.
Some of us went on the Underground Tour a couple of months ago. It wasn’t the Night Strangler, [sub]thank the Good Lord[/sub] but it was lots of fun.
This one is a different tour, and since I have done the other one a few times over the years, I’m looking forward to it.

Yes. Sorry. I’m back to not having Board access during the weekdays, so I’m behind on my posting.
We are on for the 12th. (That’s a week from this Friday.) I called the Underworld and made reservations for 10 people. It’s a voicemail, but I haven’t heard anything back.
10 people covers everyone who’s a “yes,” and several people who are “maybes.” (Mumblemumble Cervaise and Aguecheek mumble.)
If anyone else wants to come along, chime in and I’ll call back to bump up the reservation. Reservations need to be claimed by 7:20, or they’re released – I figure we should plan on being at Doc Maynard’s by 7:10 at the latest, maybe shooting for 7:00. Time to down that included cocktail…
As for dinner beforehand, I’m open to the idea. Suggestions on a place?
I have been on the Underground tour several times over the last 30 years and each time it has gotten shorter, or maybe I have just gotten older and less intrested.
I would like to go on this with the GF, could you please sign up up for two spots (Assuming you can get ahold of them) We will be at the Doc’s at 7:00
