Arrested Development 11/07

I just wanted to start the thread for once.

Hour-long episode (or 2 1/2-hour episodes?) tonight - the horrible month-long World Series/Prison Break hiatus is finally over. Not even any reruns of the first three episodes as a refresher. don’t think there’s much doubt it’s getting the axe when this season’s over; I hope they realize this and keep pushing the envelope.

See you all later tonight - looking forward to reading about all the things I didn’t catch.

[PRACTICE MODE]

Holy cow! Did you catch that part where {character} said {line}. I didn’t think they could get away with that on TV. And the bit where {other character} was standing in front of {background joke}? That was great! I can’t believe that FOX is going to {prediction of demise}!

[/PRACTICE MODE]

While we’re here…

I’m usually pretty shy about asking people if I can take their picture, even on Halloween, but I had to get this guy.

You forgot the postmodern reflexivity sure to pop up in the narration.

Troy, I can’t tell who the hell that is, but it looks kinda like Isaac Hayes.

Genius! I was thinking of wearing a red SLUT tee, but I was afraid people would think I was dressing as a skanky pre-teen.

He’s supposed to be Tobias in Blue-face.

The posture and the way he holds his hands together are dead-on.

I want a corndog cross with all the crucifixins!

Holy shit, it was going to be tough to top that first episode, but the second was fantastic. The presentation to the Japanese was the first time I’ve cried laughing in a good while.

Anyang!!!

Annyong!

Oh man… when the rocketman went up against Moleman, I DIED laughing! That was utterly hilarious.

From the first show, Tobius wanting to “out the Queen” was great :D.

Good to see Bob Loblaw having more screen time, though I will miss Ann (“Who’s That?” ;))

And Annoyong in the ‘Next on Arrested Development’? Priceless.

In Unison:

Michael: Uncle Mike!
Steve Volt: Steve Volt!

George Michael in the rocket suit may be the funniest thing I’ve seen in three seasons.

Holy shit.

I almost forgot:

“Thank God I wasn’t in the Humvee”

And Tobias was wearing his cut-offs under his gym shorts, of course.

I need to watch this again because I got in late and missed a few things. Some great jokes, of course. I loved the Inner Beauty Pageant, and I liked that iwas run by Rob Pat*tersonReally didn’t like the explanation of “MR F,” though. If it turns out Annyong has been the spy this whole time, that’d be excellent, but it seems my fear that the Rita storyline was a waste of time is being realized.

Tobias daring GM and Ann to have sex had me crying with laughter.

I can’t wait to rewatch! And I’m sure I’m not the only one. Really, is there any other show that you can say this about? Are people recording Desperate Housewives so they can go over it again and again? I think not.

Also, I will be purchasing all of the fine products featured in the commercials. Hear that, Fox/advertisers?

I like how George Michael was just hanging from the monkey bars in the Army sign-up area, just as we learn he liked to do when he was a young boy.

Loved Steve Holt’s motivational training phrases:

"Don’t ask ‘Can I?’ Ask ‘I Can!’ "
“No blood, no oil!”
“There’s no ‘I’ in win!”

Both shows were just great. The Rocketman vs. Moleman had me in stitches.

Best subtle joke: “Brilliant idea, Einstein,” spoken by Larry, who was played by Bob Einstein.

Loved the Church and State Fair, with the two different version of “Startled Straight.”

Tobias to Ann: “What do you want, a boy or a man? I know what I would prefer.”
