I am soliciting suggestions, I will keep the 3-5 I like best and submit to a vote if this works.
So I guess I’ll start here in MPSIMS and then link to a new thread in IMHO as that will be a poll.
If there is any interest in helping me with this with clever/humorous suggestion I will run the suggestion part for about a week.
As most of you probably don’t have a clue who I am, in summary:
I post too often but start an average number of threads.
I will jump into almost every thread on Baseball, Tolkien, Science Fiction or the Environment.
I post mainly to Café & Pit but I browse by “New Post” button so I end up everywhere.
For Café, I post on movies, cartoon series & Daily Show mainly.
Overall I am very eclectic in my interest. I am male, late 30’s married with 2 little ones.
Born in Bronx, grew up and live in Jersey.
I’m a Computer Geek.
I chose it very quickly when I joined. At the very least I’ll make it Jim Franchi to eliminate some confusion. I was even thinking about Jersey Jim.
If a good idea is suggested that appeals to me, I would like something fun.
I don’t know if this thread will take off or go flat, but I have seen a few name change threads generate some fun for others too and I thought I would have some fun with it.
Jim - I changed my name shortly after I joined. My original screen name was my real name. When I first read your OP, my first thought was “Jersey Jim.” If you decide to look for something a little more cryptic, and also fun, you might want to do something similar to what I did. The mod who helped me with the name change asked for a handful of names, in case my first choice was already in use. I tried to think of some distinctive words and phrases that might be memorable, that related to interests of mine, but which would not “type cast” me in terms of where or what I might want to post. My first choice, Crotalus, was obviously available. Have fun making your choice.
