Thread locked, posting privileges “under review,” and my further participation under some doubt. Oooooooh, I‘ve got the all-over shivers.
And for what? I made a post well down into a thread, and not one single person had the guts to take it on. Why? Fear, lack of guts, and lack of intellectual wherewithal.
Now, I understand as well as anyone that these boards have been a for-profit operation for some years, and that a mod (in this case fluiddruid), is going to look at, say, 10 private demands to have me banned as a total of about $150/year as opposed to the measly $15 that I contribute. Money writes the rules, now.
I have stated my opinion as is my, and everyone’s, right, once we’ve paid our dues. That’s really all there is to it.
IANAD, but recommend lots of rest, aspirin and plenty of fluids. See your doctor if symptoms persist, but he’ll just tell you to rest, take aspirin and drink lots I’d imagine.
You dont have the right to be a jerk, though. If youd at least started a new thread to iinflict your adolescent nihilist bullshit on us, you might have been okay. You instead derailed another discussion to focus attention on yourself. Or rather, attempted to, but failed for three reasons…
Your thesis was not well-supported, at all.
It didn`t really relate very well to the topic at hand. We were comparing the child/parent bond and the pet/caretaker bond. The idea that the child/parent bond is inherent immoral and cruel is a separate topic entirely. This is the main thing you did wrong.
You come across as a 15-year-old of only moderate intelligence who cuts himself in the locker room after eating stupid food for breakfast.
I am surprised at the descision to consider revoking your posting priveledges, and hope that you are not banned for your posts in that thread. Your posts in that thread do lead me to suggest you should read Viktor Frankl’s Man’s Search For Meaning. You might find a way to deal with your loathing for humanity through that book.
I do not loathe humanity. I simply see it for what it is, and state what it is.
People are beautiful in their truth, unless they are convinced of their own repulsiveness, as most are. To such, my observations are most despised. No one wants to be reminded of what they already think they are.

Drop the arrogance. Drop the attitude. Stop flaming. Or you will be banned.
This not like every other message board out there. There are rules. There are expectations. You can have posts deleted and threads locked for offense far less serious than spewing several hundred obscenities or spamming fifteen websites. You can get warned for behavior that’s not absolute bottom-of-the-barrel psychotic criminal behavior (rampant ego certainly qualifies, and you’re definitely not the first), and you will go down hard if you ignore the moderators. These are not brain-dead comatose weaklings who have to see 5000 flames before they issue a friendly suggestion to knock it off, they’re real moderators who don’t hesitate a second to take out the trash.
It doesn’t matter whether you’re 15, 44, or 33 1/3. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a doctor or a garbage collector. Your kind of rampant arrogance will not be tolerated. On any board.
I suggest you take some time off this board and chew on all this for a while. I’ll check back in in a few months and see if you’ve learned anything.
P.S. - Oh yeah, that Mickey Mouse bullshit with the quote “fixing”? Don’t even think of doing that again. I don’t know how that got to be accepted practice on some boards, but it’s incredibly rude. Something else we’re not too wild about.
Why would I be found there? The thread linked was dull and boring (even if I DID get singed by the BBQ mob many years back when I posted a similar op to the one linked).
