I'm Not Bragging But...

It's 64 degrees here. Outside. And it's nearly 1:00 in the PM! Seriously! What is up with that?

I realize that we haven't had nearly as much hot weather as most of the rest of the country (and Europe!) has had but we did have about two weeks worth of 90+ temps this month. Some parts of Western Washington even broke into the hundreds. The very thermometer I'm looking at right now registered 5 days at 98-99 degrees just last week. To confirm that it didn't have a meltdown in that heat, I just checked Weather Underground. Yup, 64 degrees for my zip code.

Now that the sun is just starting to make it through the clouds, it just might make it all the way up to 74 today.

Again, I'm not bragging. I'm just stunned and confused.

That's nothing... it's 72 here. In Tucson! It's been raining off and on for the past 3 days. Rained all morning, then a little sun, now getting ready to rain again. Going to rain every day in the forecast for next week. I love the monsoon! For the first time since May I'm not unbearably hot!

Think you could send some of that cool weather out to southern New England? Because hauling refrigerators, couches, etc. around in the 90+ weather is really starting to get old.

Bah! It's 75 here in Ballard. And I'm by the water! I want 64. Actually, I've been telling my husband all week I've been praying for 54. Or lower. I'm Canadian. I melt.

We're having some annoying anti-heat waves over here in Estonia. I envy the rest of Europe with the fancy heat waves and all that... it is cold and wet here! Too cold to sleep with my window open.

Yeah, I'm bragging a little
No heatwave! But I happen to like heat, so it is not that enjoyable.

Anastasaeon, are you really a Seafair pirate? Are you going to be on the Moby Duck at the Torchlight Parade tonight? That's way cool! The Seafair Pirates are da bomb!

Well, a little more than an hour later, the thermometer is up to 74 but the clouds are back and they don't look they're going to take any more guff from the sun today. The weathermen say it's going to rain tomorrow. Hope it doesn't come early and rain on Anastasaeon's parade.

trublmakr, I remember it being 72 degrees in Phoenix. My aunt would tell me to put on a sweater when going outside. Wasn't there during monsoon season but my Dad has been. He was just telling me the other day about the "million dollar rain" when it rains just enough to soften up the ground. Then rains more and the water can soak in instead of just running off. That's what you guys got this year, right?

Regallag, I could box some cool air and send it to you C.O.D. Do you prefer Overnight or Priority mail?

Actually, I've been following your weather for the last week or so and have been feeling sorry for you guys. Constant storms (as if you need any more rain) and the heat as well! You really have my sympathies.

killafish555, maybe you could get Regallag to send you some heat waves.

On closer inspection, make that 70.

No. But I really, really want to be. However, I think it takes one more "really" in my wanting for it to ever become so, since it takes an enormous amount of time and money that I don't have, and would interfere with my job. I hope to see some pirates tonight, though. Maybe they'll make me an honorary one just for being a (one of the many) direct descendent of Grace O'Malley? *hopeful*

Sigh. Someday when I'm rich and retired, maybe. But for now, I just wish.

Of course, she isn't, she's been kidnapped by them!
Oh, I forgot, they aren't allowed to kidnap pretty young women like they once did...It scares the children.
Maybe, some of those little monsters need a good scare. Did I say that out loud?!

I was taken into custody by the Seafair Pirates in the late '70s. They were perfect gentlemen ( snick) and released me unharmed an hour later at my front door. It's too bad that political correctness has gone so very far.

What?! They don't do it anymore?! *is crestfallen* I've been losing weight for no damn reason, then. If you'll excuse me, I'll be gorging myself at the Seafood Fest.

How could you be bragging? Who the hell wants to live in such cold weather? 60s in the summer time? I put my jacket away in February and I dont want to see again until December.
64??? What a waste of the summer!!

Where are you? I'm just north of Boston, and it's a gorgeous 72 breezy degrees right now!

So guess which 5 days I decided to visit Seattle. I was hoping for a break from the Chicago heat. Sigh... It's been 100 here for the past few days, and there are a few 100 days still to come before we get a break. And guess which weekend our AC decided to not work. Yeah. My dad called me from Seattle today, letting me know that he wore a jacket today. Thanks, dad. I sweatted through my sheets.

It rained today. I couldn't believe it. I know the weather network had been predicting it, but I figured those crafty meteorologists were jerking my chain, as usual.

I saw them a few weeks ago - sadly, it kind of ruins the pirate-y effect when they're to coordinate a location on cellphones.

However, it is Fleet week.... so, sailors... and it's not "too darn hot," either.

Blah.

Current weather forecast in Toronto is showing that it's supposed to hit 35c (95f) tomorrow. My only consolation is that I have central air at home.

I remember rain, I think. It's water that falls from the sky, right?

Well, OK, but you get to sleep with Bubba.

I watched the Seafair Parade on Saturday and was surprised that the Pirates were almost at the very end of the line. Didn't they used to come earlier so that the kids were awake enough to get good and scared? (And get candy too.) That Jonny Depp look-alike was pretty cute.

We got a little bit of rain last night. Not as much or as long as the weathermen were predicting for here. The cool streak is still continuing. Weather Undergrond says it's going to get alllll the way up to 73 degrees on Thursday and Friday.
