I'M HOT!!!!

I have a couple of friends and family over doing the 4th of July BBQ thing, but DAING! IT IS HOT OUT THERE! It is almost 7:00 p.m. and it is still 105 degrees!!

Now that I have cooled off for a few minutes under the air conditioner, guess I’ll go back to the patio.

How hot is it in the rest of the world?

Well, the wind just came off of Lake Michigan, so the temperature dropped from 83 to 63 in about 40 seconds. But this is Wisconsin, if you don’t like the weather, wait about 15 minutes.

Here in Stillwater, OK it is currently 97 with a heat index of 106, down from the high of 103 with the heat index of Hell.

But it’s supposed to rain tonight. I just hope it holds off until the fireworks at Boomer Lake are over.

I’m cold.

We had a June that broke all kinds of records as far as heat goes, and I was so happy. But today it is a high of 20 and a low of 10.

For all you American’s, thats… lemme look it up… a high of 68 and a low of 50.

pout

I agree. It’s too frelling hot! I went up to Bellingham, WA and expected to beat the heat with temperatures in the middle-60s. While it was certainly cooler than Los Hideous, it still reached the 80s. Ironically, I was sunburned in the Land of Clouds and Rain.

Returning to L.A. at nidnight, I was treated to 72ºF and humidity. Seventy-two at midnight. Ugh.

It’s hot outside, it’s hot in my apartment, and it’s just too sackin’ hot in general.

It’s still warm there, but I’d much rather be in Bellingham.

Honey, I hate to tell you, but it isn’t very cool here atm. But there IS a nice breeze, so if you are outside it is nice. I am, unfortunately, inside where it feels like the air is going to start dripping any minute.

But still…we wish you were here, too!

Scotti: No, it wasn’t very cool up there; but it’s a lot better than here! The cool breeze off of Bellingham Bay really helps. Sitting in the back yard up there, I was comfortable in that breeze. And when we went to the drive-in it was actually “cold”! (i.e., a jacket would have been nice, but it wasn’t necessary.)

So how come you weren’t at the show? It was in all of the papers. (Well, the Every Other Weekly and the Bellingham Harold anyway.) Do you remember the guy with the long-ish salt’n’pepper hair and beard at the mini-PNW Dopefest last year? Ivan. He was in The Black Cat and came over to sit with us. He was there.

A friend in B’ham said I should send my résumé, as there might be a position opening up where she works. Mike wants to start a video production company and can use me. The Westminster house is sold and the money is in the bank. I’d like to stay long enough at my job to learn the new system (and to get my vacation to Bellingham and Juneau next month out of the way), but I’m itchin’ to move!

Ah… the (usually) cool, wet green-ness of the Pacific Northwest!

It’s 30 celsius here. That’s STINKIN’ HOT to you Fahrenheit people.

Thankfully, I have ac in car, home, and office. Helps when cooling down an evil sunburn.

I’m in Nawth Carolinah, and it was right sultry all day. Started raining about dusk though, just enough to quash tha damn fireworks. :frowning:

Though, that does mean my fair neighbors will be setting off their accumulated stash of bang-treats after work for the next week.

I thought you were telling us that you were sexy hot, not like temperature hot.

Imagine my disappointment…

Anyway, it was warm up here in Pennsylvania, but we just got some rain, so now it’s just humid. I’d rather be hot than sweaty, but I’d settle for both under the right circumstances…

It’s 35C here in Ulsan, South Korea. That’s hot enough to melt Canadians and cause rabbits to spontaneously combust.

Johnny, baby…no, I don’t get the paper.

I had hoped that you would contact me and we could get together while you were here…I would have LOVED to come. Besides, I owe you birthday hugs.

Next time, let me know.

Scotti

37C in Southern Alberta - Ginger, enjoy the cool Canmore air!

Hot enough to melt Canadians - ha!

It’s beyond hot here in Phoenix. It’s 8pm current time and it’s still over 100 (105 to be exact, and weather.com says it "feels like 107  ). We had ~114 the last couple days. It’s a heat that hits you hard when you open the door and first step out in it. Then it just settles around you until you can barely move, leeching every bit of energy out of your body with every bead of sweat.

We normally get hot for about 3 hours a year so air con isn’t a top priority. Hence, I’m still awake at 4.00am and hoping for some kind of breeze – it is very sticky (but more about my duvet later).

Got to play ‘hunt the fan’ tomorrow / today around the local shops cos this is just ridiculous. Also need a small fridge with removable doors to put under the desk. And my head shaved.

Looking forward to reviving this thread in about 4 months when I’ll be spending half the day de-icing the damn monitor.

Oh ! The joys of living in a temperate climate…

Hey Pyrrho! Somehow I totally missed the fact that you’re in Korea too until just now! If you ever make it to Seoul, I’ll buy ya a beer to help you cool off…

FTR: in Seoul it’s hot, rainy, and muggy today, but fortunately I’m laid up and home with a little work to do and an air-conditioner!

Well, I fired up the air conditioner about an hour ago and the thermometer on the computer still reads 29.5C and when I switch to Fahrenheit it converts to 85.1F

This is actually warm enough to melt a Canadian and my office at work was a balmy 90F when I left. I can’t wait until our computer explodes at work from the heat, then they might consider doing something about the ventilation.

Past couple of days or so the news has reported, for my area of vegas, 120, so quitcher bitchin.

Jeez, I live right here in Seoul, and Astroboy never offered to buy me a beer. Or maybe he has…I don’t know. Anyway, Pyrrho, I’ll buy you one too.

At 1am (CST) it’s 74 degrees (23.33 C). The weather for the next week can be summed up by this: Low 90’s during the day, low 70’s at night, moderate humidity, and no chance of rain.

At least it’s not last years blast furnace. 107 sucks.
