I’m a Canadian and as such I hold it dear to me that it’s my constitutional right to bitch about things other people would love to have. Like temperatures under 100F.
Ah… Humidity. What do you all call bad? I’ve been places where they thought 50% was bad. I’ve had friends come to Mississippi and gag, asking “How do you breathe this stuff?”
Usually with a straw, why?
Saint, coming from Hawaii I have the same responses. The worst coming from a close friend lady friend of mine who has a mane of hair. In Cali’s nice low usually-in-the-teens humidity, it behaved fine. In Hawaii’s 60-90% it frizzed up something fierce.
Today, in LA, CA, btw, things were in the mid-70s low 80s, I believe.
Okay, so it hasn’t been hot enough to melt Canadians. It has, however, been hot enough to melt Newfoundlanders. At least today we finally got the rain. All day there’s been a huge, glorious thunderstorm!
Unfortunately, my rabbits don’t like this weather much better than they liked the heat. They’re shivering on the floor, preparing themselves for Ragnarok. I guess those ears must pick up the sound of thunder from quite a distance off…
Astroboy, you never noticed before now that I was in Korea too? Remember that thread you started about Astrogirl’s mother possibly finding out that she was dating you, and I responded by telling you about the time SES and I went through sort of the same thing? I suddenly feel so forgetable…
Anyhow, If I’m ever in Seoul I’ll take you up on your offer. If either of you ever make it down to the Ulsan/Kyoungju area, drop me a line and I’ll take you out for dakkalbi.
Heat, driving rain & humidity marked Middle Tennessee’s Glorious 4th. lots of humidity.
Help.
Sack! Temps in the 80s and it’s supposed to rain for the next couple of days! It makes me really want to go to work so I can be in the air conditioning.
I have to sleep with the window fan on to cool my torso and another fan on to cool my feet and legs. A nasty side-effect is that the window fan causes my nose to run and I feel as if I’m drowning in my own fluids as the post nasal drip carries the mucus to my lungs. TMI? Maybe. But it illustrates why I hate living in hot climates.
I can’t speak for the rest of the world, but having seen yor pic up on the People Pages, I’d have to agree.
Yeah, but you got a bazillion mega-air-conditioned casinos that give out alcoholic beverages to those who come in to partake of the fun and games.
Having lived on both coasts I can honestly say the east is worse. Humidity sucks. It’s Africa hot here and your sweat doesn’t cool you down and it doesn’t evaporate. It’s like taking a shower in stinky water.
