Ever had Pickles on your Pizza?

No, seriously, it’s not that bad when they are baked on. For people who do love pickles and pizza it’s a good match. I love Pizza. It is quite possibly the bane of my very existence. When I am eating well, meaning as organically as I can, like a rabbit, I feel quite good. But on occasion [ok more than I would like to admit] I crave pizza. Usually a good moussaka or sausage pizza, but I get cravings like I was some sort of greek crack addict, but my drug is pizza. Go figure I’m Polish!

Anyway - last weekend I thought to ask the greek guy on the other end of the phone at my favorite pizza place to put pickles on the sausage pizza. He paused briefly, and said: …#76 15 minutes…

As if others had asked for this before me…

So this thread is two fold: Have you ever had pickles on your pizza? And what is your favorite pizza?

No, because I hate pickles. However, my favorite pizza is just about any meatless pizza.

I love pizza.

No. I love pickles. I love pizza. But I would never put the two together. Eew!

Then again…I love bacon too, and the thought of the two together sounds absolutely atrocious - but one eats them all the time on a bacon cheeseburger.

I love bacon on pizza… though just a bit… too much and its not so great.

You do know this is a common topping, right?

Or is my town just weird?

No, I’ve never had pickles on a pizza. I do like to put pickles on my grilled cheese sandwiches though.

My favorite pizza is pepperoni and green olive.

One of my jobs during college was spinning dough at a pizza joint. We did a cheesburger pizza which had pickles on it. I think the pickles went on cold, though, after the pie came out of the oven. It was surprisingly tasty.

What Dio said. A local pizza place makes a bacon cheeseburger pizza, and serves pickles on the side. It’s really good.

Mmmmmm, salt and fat…

Now that sounds wonderful! I might have to go down to Acropolis and get one!

Well, that’s very weird. I was going to suggest you go to Funky Pickle if you’re ever in Edmonton until I checked their menu and realized that despite the name, pickles don’t seem to be on their menu . Weird.

No, I’ve never had pickles on a pizza and doubt that I ever would. I’d have difficulties saying what my favourite pizza is since it depends on my mood. I don’t like olives or anchovies, and don’t like it overly spicy. Other than that, I order many different kinds.

Not dill pickles, but when I make homemade pizza (or dress up a frozen pizza), I almost always put pickled red onions on it. They’re delicious.

Daniel

Valentino’s in Omaha and Lincoln, NE has a bacon cheeseburger pizza with dill pickles on it.

My wife, who shares her mother’s Southern sweettooth and can’t eat anything but sweet pickles understands neither the allure of this pizza nor that of dill pickle flavor potato chips.

VALENTINO’S is the greatest pizza known to man! I’m a Los Angeles transplant originally from Omaha, NE. Everyone in Los Angeles complains about how you can’t get a good slice here, and that New York is the only place that has good pizza. I’ve had New York slices as well . . . never understood all the fuss. You want the best pizza in the world, you have to go to Nebraska.

That said, I have never had their bacon cheeseburger pizza . . . I can’t not order their special pizza.

If I have them, I put bread and butter pickle slices on when I do my “dress up a crappy $2 on sale frozen pizza” dinners. Delish.

That sounds revolting. And now I must try it.

Moved from IMHO to CS.

I hope im not the only one who thought about the big sausage pizza website (NSFW!!) from the thread title

They made a cheeseburger pizza at the dining hall with hamburger, onions, and pickles. It looked and smelled atrocious.

Damn straight I do. I first learned of it from my sister (where she got the idea, I don’t know.) Her standard was pickles and pepperoni. So I then always got it as well, and throughout high school, managed to convince most of my friends to the awesomeness that is pickles on pizza. It eventually got to the point where the local pizza place finally added ‘pickles’ to the official list of toppings.

Yeah you misread me…I get bacon on my pizza all the time.

However, every time I get a bacon cheeseburger with bacon and pickles (amongst other things) I think to myself “this is the only circumstance under which I would eat both bacon and pickles in the same bite.”
