I recently adopted two 8 month old cats, siblings from the same litter. Diego is the Siamese looking cat and Serafina is the Siamese looking tabby. It’s amazing how cats can be so different.
Diego is wild, constantly running around, extremely vocal (very loud meows) and affectionate (follows me from room to room, jumps on me if I sit down, purrs and rubs on me). He is long and lean, with an extremely long tail. He is polydactyl with 2 extra toes on each front foot and one extra toe on the back feet. He has very blue eyes and silky fur (like a mink). He meows to be picked up and if I don’t pick him up quickly he tried to JUMP up into my arms. He goes insane for the laser pointer, just picking it up makes him crazy.
Serafina is quieter and much more shy. She is also fairly vocal but has tiny little mews. Instead of sitting in the lap, she likes to sit next to me for petting. She likes to hide under blankets and drinks water by dipping her paw in the water and licking the water off. She is a very round little cat - round face, round body, short tail, pale grey eyes. Her fur is very fluffy, with a dense underlayer.
Anyway, I included some pics! I definitely love having cats again - they don’t sleep very much when I’m home and keep me amused all the time. Their favorite toy is currently a 5 foot canvas cat toy tube/tunnel I got them, they chase each other through it constantly.
I wondered what they are - I knew Siego obviously had some sort of Siamese heritage. I think Serafina is a very unusual looking cat, I haven’t seen many that look like her. I have on idea how to describe her other than “Siamese looking tabby!”
I actually love the polydactyl paws (it seems to be much more common on the east coast, my mom had several cats like that when I was younger). Diego has “mitten feet” - he is EXTREMELY dextrous with them and can nearly grab and hold small items. I try very hard not to play favorites, but it’s tough because he has SO much personality and is so demanding. I was originally going to name him Ruben (because I always thought Ruben was a great cat name) but he was just too wicked and naughty, he was definitely a Diego - Don Diego!
Korsa, the most talented of my four cats, likes to help out around the house. This picture was taken after she cleaned out the cold air return for the furnace. Thanks Korsa!!
Glory, your new kitties are so cute it hurts!
