Doper Baby Announcement!

The pool of pregnant Dopers is now smaller: meet Jonah Thomas!

He was born after a very speedy labor on Thursday, August 16, at 4:22am (my first contraction was at 11pm Wednesday night!). He weighed 7lbs 2oz and is 20 inches long.

We’re doing pretty well, so far – we were having some feeding issues, so he’s a little jaundiced. They kept us in the birth center an extra night because of that and because I lost a lot of blood after delivery, but we’re home now and are getting the hang of things.

He’s just about perfect, as far as I can tell.

…and he’s waking up, so here I go!

Huzzah! But now the number of tired yet happy Dopers has increased by one.

Oh, wow…beautiful baby, terrific pictures. Congratulation stargazer, and welcome Jonah!

Congratulations on a real cutie pie!

This means you can come to trivia tomorrow night, right?

He’s beautiful!  Best of luck to you and your SO!

Mazel tov!

Speedy labors are good. We like speedy labors.

What a little darling! Congratulations!

Congratulations stargazer. He’s darling.

Welcome Jonah! I hate to be the one to tell you this, but your mom likes to hang out with strange men in pubs.

He is very sweet. Congratulations!

Kick Ass!

Congratulations! Jonah is a great name, BTW.

Congratulations and good health. I’ve been wondering about how it was going, the last few days. Glad to know it went fine.

Well, not fine, exactly (sounds like some briefly scary complications), but that things are ending up well.

Beautiful baby. Not at all the “tiny human made of chewed gum” look I expect from a typical newborn.

Congratulations! He’s really beautiful. Love the name!

He’s beautiful! And I love his name, too.

He looks so alert! I’m used to seeing the new Doper babies when they’re still pink, wrinkly, and dazed-looking.

ADORABLE! I love the Smiley Boy photo the best.

Congratulations on the birth of your son.

My unsolicited advice? Take a katrillion zillion pictures and then take some more - you won’t regret it. Keep a baby journal (I just have a Word document right now) and jot down everything you can, whenever you can. It’s amazing how quickly you forget things in the blur that is motherhood.

Congrats again.

He’s beautiful.

I’ll second Stainz’s advice. I’m not a mom, but a doting aunt and godmother. Wish I’d written down more of what I found amusing and interesting when my niece, nephew and godchildren were little. They’re so BIG now!

Congratulations!

Congratulations. Wishing you luck and joy with your new family!

Awwwwwwww. Congratulations!
