Yesterday I got out of bed, realized I was a day late for my period, and took an HPT. Two pink lines! I was so stunned that I took another, and darned if it wasn’t positive too. Just to be sure, I went to my family MD and had blood drawn, and it turns out I am 4 weeks pregnant!! We stopped using BC 3 months ago, but we didn’t expect to get results so quickly
Hubby was even more excited than I was when I told him yesterday evening (he grabbed me and hugged me, and then proceeded to call everyone he’s ever met to let them know he’s going to be a Dad). This is our first baby and we are very excited. We are planning to tell our parents this weekend by presenting my Dad and his Step-dad with “World’s Best Grandpa” shirts. This is going to be the first grandchild for both sets, so y’all can imagine the reaction.
Is this a Doper baby in the sense I’ve been using the word? That is, did the parents only meet because of the SDMB? There have been two such babies so far and one more on the way.
Congrats! First grandbabys are the best. I’ve got two who are the only grandkids right now and they get spoiled absolutely rotten.

Alas, no. In spite of his many stellar qualities, hubby has no interest in the SDMB.
No official due date yet, but all the online EDD calculators say Feb. 23. They plan to do an ultrasound at my first MD appointment, so that should help to nail down exactly how far along I am and peg a due date.
Thanks for all the well-wishes, everyone. Feel free to go ahead and start praying/sending good thoughts/lighting candles/beseeching the universe for two things on my behalf – “uncomplicated pregnancy” and “short labor”.
