Straight up swordfighting, which would win?
I had to look up Pyramid Head in Wikipedia to figure it out, but I’m gonna have to go with Cloud Strife mainly because he’s not wearing that honking huge thing on his head. Headbutts don’t sound like they could do much against Cloud’s Limit Breaks which are technically more ranged than close-in.
Plus Cloud has the Omnislash. And if you go with Advent Children, he also has the First Tsurugi (?) that splits apart into twelve pieces to give him even more asswhooping-fu. I can’t for the life of me remember what his weapon’s called, though.
The basic sword he’s always shown with is called the Buster Sword, I think.

Cloud. Cloud has clashed repeatedly with Sephiroth, the biggest, baddest (and hottest) big bad of them all, and won the engagement each time…though final triumph could be said to elude him.
Based on what I read in wiki, Pyramid Head’s powers seem to consist of being scary, having a big knife, and raping everything in sight. Not a very impressive array for use against an opponent who has been infused with mako energy, uses materia, has some damned impressive limit breaks, and who wields the Buster Sword handed down from Angeal and Zack.
Further, events in FFVII show that Cloud isn’t crushed and demoralized by homosexual rape.
Apparently, I’m not the only one who thought of this.
Wait until the last minute.
Tough to say, but I’ll go with Pyramid Head. Sure, he’s a bit of a perv and he can barely swing his sword, but he’s unkillable. That counts for a lot in these kinds of matchups.
Cloud is the Main Character. So he gets Protagonist points, which of course count for bupkis in the SH universe.
Pyramid Head is a Plot Antagonist, a representation of spoiler, and is invulnerable until the Protagonist can overcome his personal demons.
Cloud still hadn’t gotten over himself in Advent Children, so I’m gonna give this one to Pyramid Head.
In the end, the aliens come in and kill everybody anyway, so nobody wins.
