May be the best song ever, when you’re in the mood for it.

Love 'em all.

Lost my edit time.

GAH!

I like the Shaw/Blades (not sure how they conjoin their names) version. Heard them do it live on a radio show a year or so ago. Quite nice. Have you heard it?

Sir Rhosis

I’m a bit surprised you didn’t provide a direct link to The Isley Brothers’ cover of this song (click the start icon). I think it’s far better than the original.

I dig it; one of the few easy listening songs that doesn’t make me want to retch…

I meant to post in the the mondegreen thread how I used to think that “blowing through the jasmine in my mind” was “blowing through the jazz runs in my mind”.

You know, Seals & Crofts is part of an interesting branch of the Tree of Rock.

Jim Seals’ brother, Dan Seals is AKA England Dan of England Dan and John Ford Coley fame (they did Nights Are Forever Without You and I’d Really Love To See You Tonight). Jim and Eddie Seals were in The Champs (of Tequilla fame), and both Seals and Crofts toured with The Champs, as well.

Seals & Crofts’ wiki page explains it all better than I care to take time to (I’m a lazy sod).

I was a wee tot when this song came out. It always conjures up a memory of riding in the way back of a friend’s red VW bug with a summer storm brewing. I don’t know why, but the song makes me feel a little wistful and aware that nothing lasts forever. I still love it, though.

Ahh, Seals & Crofts. My first concert in the mid 70’s and only one of two I’ve ever attended.

Had to hitchhike from Missoula to Billings Montana to see them but was it ever worth it!

Got into the outskirts of Billings early in the morning, and let off on the interstate near a Holiday Inn. We were dying for a cup of coffee, so wandered over to the Inn to see if their kitchen was open.

They had a huge dining room and we were the only people in there besides a small group across the way.

We were quietly talking when my partner recognized Seals and Crofts. I’d never even seen an album cover so I thought he was full of shit. Very shy guy, but he couldn’t help but jump up and go over to meet them. After ten or so minutes of animated talking, I got waved over to join them.

Very down to earth and nice people, all of them, they insisted on buying breakfast for us and gave us free tickets to the concert later that day.

It was a thrilling experience and probably part of the reason I’ve never attended many other concerts because that first one would be too hard to top.

Wish they were still playing together, I love their harmony.

Oh yeah, that’s smooooovve…

Here’s a groovy one: The Main Ingredient

And this one.

One more.
