Animal Rescue, that is! :smiley:

As many of you know, I am very active in animal welfare through my local humane society, and will remain so till my dying breath or last synapse, whichever comes first. :slight_smile:

Y’all have helped before and I am hoping you will help again. Please.

We have lost so many Doper pets in the last year, maybe this could be an “In Memoriam” thing for so many of us.

Okay here’s the deal:

There’s a site called www.theanimalrescuesite.com, and just for clicking, you provide .6 of a bowl of food for a rescue/shelter pet a day. Please do this, daily.

Then, when you complete that, there’s a contest called “The $20,000 Shelter Challenge” where you can click and vote for your favorite shelter to win.

Top prize is $20,000, but there are many other cash prizes, and any shelter stands to win if they get enough votes.

Okay. Obviously I’d like you to vote for my shelter, so do if you can, but if not, then choose one in your area.

But you have to vote daily for any shelter, if you want to help, and you can have an e-mail reminder sent to you to do that, if you wish.

Once you click on the VOTE box at the the top of the page which will appear after you feed your pet, a field opens up which will allow you to fill in details of which shelter you’d like to support.

The details for mine are: Paulding Humane Society, Inc located in Dallas Ga.

Then you just click on VOTE and another field opens and you have to write the name of the animal you see in the box proivded (robot blockage) and that’s it, you’re done.

My shelter is currently number 11 in out state, but with y’all’s help, we could win this thing.

But whether you do it for my shelter or your own, please just do it.

I don’t know if y’all understand this, but the animals help to soothe me.

Don’t misunderstand me, I love people too, but ever since I was a young “Quacker” ;), my parents taught me that the animals always come first, ands that is the way it has always been.

Here’s something I haven’t told y’all, but I was taught horsemanship by my next door neighbor, a guy two years older than me, and while I am by no means a “Horse Whisperer”, I know how to talk to a horse, and my humane society knows to call me if they ever get one in that I can care for.

Sorry to veer off-topic in my own thread, but when I said “re-run”? This is why.

Case in point:

The other day, I received a new credit card and was told to cut up the old one.

I should have left the new one on my desk and carried the old one to the trash can, but instead, I held the new one in my right hand the old one in my left, and went to the kitchen where my wallet was.

Laid down one credit card, picked up the scissors and promptly proceeded to cut up the new card.

That kind of shit hapens to me on a daily basis, though not always to this degree.

I think I previously posted something about “double-posting” so when Johnny said “done and done”, I thought I had posted here before about this.

I know I post a lot about my animal advocacy, so I guess I just ran everything together and came up with the fact it was a “re-run”.

I have a friend in Australia who is a very popular teacher, and she’s in this as well , so we’re hoping for a cum-from-behind victory.

Man! It would make my whole LIFE if my shelter could win this money because of my friends, but ALL animals are important - not just those at Paulding Humane, so please do whatever you can, where ever you can.

On another subject, don’t y’al think I would make a great “Double Agent”?

Hell, they couldn’t interrogate me, because I’d already have forgotten everything, and just think of all the damage I could do! :smiley:
