Grammatical error on the front page of the Wall Street Journal?

Reading today’s (8/6) Wall Street Journal: Front page, second headline. Article: Alert On M.D. Abuse Of Jackson Drug

First sentence of paragraph three: >>Propofol, sold under the brand name Diprivan, is a widely used hospital sedatives.<<

Is there some grammatical rule I’m missing here, or is this incorrect?

Looks to me like a simple typo that didn’t get picked up by an actual editor or an editing software program. Not really a grammatical mistake.

Whilst it is likely a typographical error, that doesn’t mean it isn’t a grammatical mistake. Looks like sedatives should be singular.

should be either

>>Propofol, sold under the brand name Diprivan, is *one of the *widely used hospital sedatives.<<

or

>>Propofol, sold under the brand name Diprivan, is a widely used hospital sedative.<< *Drop the “S”)

I’ll bet that the original sentence was “… is one of the most widely used hospital seditives.” An editor challenged that, and so the writer changed it and forgot to drop the plural S.
