UK 1970s children's TV show to do with a bus

Less youthful UK dopers, help me reassure myself I’m not going mad.

I have vivid recollections of a children’s TV show from the mid-1970s, that revolved around a gang of kids who had a double decker bus. I seem to remember the bus was in a large garage or warehouse or something, and they had special knocks to get in through a secret door or hatch or something.

Not a lot else. It was in colour and was a bit zany and psychedelic.

I’ve been googling “the bus club” and stuff like that, but nothing’s showing up.

The Double-Deckers.

The Double Deckers

ETA God your fast GuanoLad!

Thank god for that.

I started getting a creeping horror that my brain had fabricated the memory out of whole cloth.

Thanks both.

Oh yeah, and the little girl with her tiger. I remember her.

Wow, Peter Firth was in it. And Jane Seymour.

The opening theme is particularly memory-inducing.

Wow, found an episode on YouTube. Attention spans really have plummeted, haven’t they. But the quality of children’s TV seems to be on a plateau.

I now seem to remember they used to show episodes during Saturday Morning Flicks.

Aha! See, I did wonder, why, if it was in the mid 1970s, when I would still have been at school and living at home and watching telly, I could not think of this thing in **Jjimm’s **OP at all. But, yeah, that opening tune brings it back a bit.

Oh well, memory not completely shot then.

I loved the episode where the slightly obese kid thought he was invisible and tried stealing cakes from the baker’s shop.
