Holy Crap, I had a baby!

Some of you may remember my thread from last October, Holy Crap I think I’m pregnant!

Thankfully the sticky vibes worked out well and on Saturday 6/26/10 I gave birth to a little boy-type creature!

Gabriel Michael was a stubborn little guy and wanted to be born face up-I turned every which way while laboring but he ended up facing sideways and refused to change position. We did a c-section after almost 24 hours of labor and 2+ hours of fruitless pushing, and he came out with a big cone head and a giant bruise on his forehead where he’d been bashing up on my pelvis for 2 hours. The doctor’s first words on seeing him were “Yeah, he was NOT coming out the other way!”
I think my first words to him were “Sorry buddy! I didn’t realize your head was so stuck!”

Now we’re home and attending to his every whim, and his poor head looks much more normal. I’m trying to get Mr. Elysium to find the connection cord for our camera so I can upload the OR pics, but we have bunch of iPhone pictures up on flickr. I think my favorites are of Dad and Gabe, and Gabe’s feet.

So thanks for all the sticky vibes and well wishes, I think I made a pretty cute kid :smiley:

Look at the size of those feet! I wonder if big feet means tall humans like big paws on puppies predict big dogs.

I looked at the picture and thought, “What an angel,” and then saw his name and realized I was right. Only he’s twice the angel I thought he was.

Congratulations! You’re right. You did make a pretty cute kid. Love the feet.
