That was a fun way to spend a Friday afternoon. There was a previous thread about the trailer, but this was one of those films where the trailer didn’t do the movie justice. And given the awesomeness of the trailer, that’s quite a surprise.
Danny Trejo is … well he’s Danny Trejo for the entire movie. Jessica Alba is mostly naked. Robert de Niro has the most gloriously fake Texan accent in many, many years. The plot is, quite frankly, delirious, but that doesn’t really matter in a movie where the whole point is to have as many stylish explosions and gratuitous T&A as possible.
Not exactly wholesome family fare, but I think I laughed out loud more than any film in at least the last five years.
I can’t decide if it was an homage or parody of bad 70s action flicks. There were lots of hot women and tons of bad fighting. I had fun, but I can’t *really *say it was a good movie.
I want to be absolutely clear here; do I actually get to see Jessica Alba totally naked? Are we talking boobs? Full frontal? Or just in bikinis and underwear?
Need answer fast. I’ve got a $20 bill and I’m holding my car keys. I can be at the multplex in ten minutes.
There’s a shower scene with Alba. She stands perfectly still, and crotch and nipples are blocked by other body parts. It was filmed with her underwear on, which has been removed in postproduction.
Great movie. As long as you go see it in the spirit for which it was intended. Basically a B-movie drive-in flick. I thought I read that the topless scenes really were Lohan. Guess I’ll have to go back and watch again. Alba was ok, although she had the ‘carefully posed to be naked without showing you anything’ scene, which just annoys me. Either be naked, or let an actress that doesn’t mind being naked have the role. I don’t see that she added anything to the film at all. I had some laugh out loud moments, including the above mentioned “Machete don’t text”. Good film that was worth the money, and I’ll most likely buy when it comes out.
I saw it tonight. What a fun movie. It passes my I’ll-see-it-again test. I LOL’d when all the cars at the cars at the end were bouncing. Especially when the one car bounced up and crushed the guy.
