On Spike’s “Scream” awards show this week, they introduced Jessica Alba as “the star of Robert Rodriguez’s MACHETE.” I wondered if that was just an in-joke reference to Grindhouse, or what? Maybe it was serious after all…TRM
Well, the kid who played Juni in Spy Kids IS in the cast list, as well as Cheech Marin…
According to IMDB, she’s in there along with Rose McGowen reprising her role as Cherry Darling (presumably pre machingun leg) and the two Crazy Babysitter Twins.
It’s definitely a reality. I watched him filming a car chase and an explosion in downtown Austin about a month ago. Slowest car chase you have ever seen, but I bet he will manipulate it and make it look awesome. I can’t wait to see it. Little tidbit- on the car they used, the registration sticker said “666”.
Except, in this case they’re sexy nurses. Not surprising that they’re in it - Electra Avellan and Elise Avellan are Rodriguez’s nieces. It’s quite the family film - Danny Trejo is his cousin. (Oddly, I don’t think he’s related to Michelle Rodriguez.)
Will the phrase “They Fucked With the Wrong Mexican” show up in some form in the promo materials?
