This Facebook page has been put up by some good folks who have found various photos and documents from the recent storms. Many of these were found a hundred miles or more away. Please spread the word, if you know of anyone who could benefit, please direct them to this page.

It is working, Zip. If you’ll read the comments under the photos, many are being identified, and family/friends are posting in with addresses and such.

That’s a good reminder of the value of microchipping a pet. A microchip would make it far more likely to be reunited with a pet in a situation like this where a major disaster has occurred and the shelters are overwhelmed with many more animals than usual. I wouldn’t know where to begin in trying to find my generic looking tabby cats if they ended up running off in the chaos after a disaster like this. At least there’s hope if they had been chipped.
