*Shortly after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, the Scarlet Plague was unleashed upon the world. Regardless of the Plague’s origin - theories range from an accidental release from an ex-Soviet biowarfare facility, an attack by Middle Eastern terrorist cells, a CIA/extraterrestrial plot, to release of an ancient virus from poorly-explored regions of African rainforest - the balance of power was not sustainable under the strain the epidemic caused. The impact of the Plague was every bit as dramatic as that of the Black Plague 700 years before. Within two years European nations had suffered massive losses to their populations, and frantic efforts to prevent the spread of the virus closed borders, increased xenophobia, and indirectly resulted in the demolition of NATO and the EU. A half-century of political integration and interdependence died with those first cases of the Plague on Jack St. in London.

When the outbreak in Europe subsided in 1995, the survivors stumbled into a political chaos unrecognizable to Europeans of 1991. Not only had the Warsaw Pact and NATO disappeared, but with the Plague still raging in Asia and America, outside intervention in European politics would be impossible. Three years of Plague outbreaks and quarantines had left the surviving national institutions insular and paranoid, setting the stage for what was to come…*

This map has a couple canals:
Fleets can move through canals in Hamburg, Cairo, Rostov, and Volga.
Also Iran has a north coast and a south coast. Fleets cannot move directly from one to the other.

I got it - the PDF was illegible (it didn’t turn your URLs into hyperlinks), and the spreadsheet wouldn’t open online, but it downloaded OK, so I’m good to go…

Could you please send a group email to everyone that includes an attached large map, list of country names/abbreviations and players’ SDMB usernames, email addresses and country assignments. In the past email has been the best way to send adjudications to the entire group to ensure everyone has the same information.

The province names are on the map here: diplom.org

jDip only allows me to produce a map with abbreviations. I can extract the names from the .xml file to make a list - there doesn’t seem to be a comprehensive one online. I won’t be able to extract the names until this afternoon/evening at the earliest. Perhaps until then reference to the link above or abbreviations will be good enough for negotiations?

But it would be helpful to have a list of which regions produce what type of army. For example, I can’t find anything that tells me what type of army Saudi Arabia produces.
