PSN is back online!

The Playstation Network just came back online in North America Saturday night. You will need to download and install a new firmware up date and then make a new password, but PSN is back up. I just now logged my PS3 into the network.

Well as part of the Mea Culpa they gave a couple free downloads from a selection of not really current games. One of the ones was Little Big Planet, which I had heard about, but knew nothing about so I decided to use one of my credits for it.

It fun, but after a few minutes I realized it really reminded me of something, Then I finally put my finger on it. Back khen I was a Kid. Now I know run'n'jumpers have been a core of video games for a million years and a million titles, but that realization brought back some memories and made it a lot more fun.

I tried downloading their apology titles and the network crashed on me...

I read somewhere we can download two PSP titles, as well? How does that work?

If it crashed on you and the options to download have disappeared, back out to the desktop and go to Account Management>Transaction Management>Services List>SCEA Promotion and select Game 1 or Game 2, and it should reset. It's been extremely buggy, since PSN is probably seeing more traffic than it ever has in its history this weekend.

The PSP titles download the same way - you just have to have a PSP.

I got 4 titles (all but LBP, since I already have the disc), since there are two PSN accounts on my PS3. I also got Comet Crash via the free PS+ account. Seems like a good tower defense game with a twist. Wipeout is a really good racing game, a genre I'm not a huge fan of. Not sure how much I'll play it, but I like at least having a racing game if I want (oh wait - I got a copy of Motorstorm sitting on shelf that I never play either, that I got for $5 at a garage sale). I'm waiting for Infamous and Dead Nation to download - my internet connection is really slow via my PS3.

Hopefully they'll get their shit together for the PlayStation 4. You guys think they'll start charging for it.
