MLB Playoffs Schedule Question
I just found out I will be traveling to NYC the week of October 3. Games 4 and 5 (if necessary) of the ALDS are scheduled for the 4th and 6th of October. I'm trying to figure out the possibility of the Yankees playing at home on those dates. What I can't seem to find out is the format. Is it 2-2-1?. If so, then if they win the division they would be the home team and only Game 5 would be possible. If they are the WC, then Game 4 would be possible. Is that all accurate?

I'm pretty sure it's 2-2-1, as in the past, but are both ALDS series on the 4th and 6th?
ETA: Yep, looks like. Last edited by Peremensoe; 08-31-2011 at 01:10 PM. |

If Yankees instead end up the Wild Card they'd be home for Games 3 and 4. |

Ok, thanks both of you. As much as I'd prefer they sweep whomever they play if they make it, it would be great to see a playoff game in the new stadium. Haven't been there yet since I moved south 7 years ago.

Is MLB doing the pre-purchasing of playoff tickets for every team, like they did last year?

I don't know. How did that work?

Go for it. You'll get your money back if the game isn't played, and if it is, it'll likely be better than seeing a game early in the series--it will mean that the teams are well-matched, there's more at stake, and you might get to see the clinch!
