One of the closest friends I've made on this board is about to celebrate his one thousandth post. I'm going to use that as an excuse to shine the spotlight on him for a little while, and flatter him mercilessly.

He's as smart as he is kind, sweet as he is talented, and as good a person as they make them in this world. He's funny, and always has something interesting to say. He's compassionate, caring, and a wonderful friend. And I'm pleased to call him a friend of mine.

Happy 1000, silent_rob. May we see many, many more from you in the future.

Oh, Audrey, thank you so much for all of your kind words. You are such a great person and this really means a lot coming from you. Thank you very much; you are a dear friend.

Well, I suppose it has been quite a while coming but I've made quite a few very good friends and had a great time on the SDMB so far. Thanks to everyone for welcoming me.

The thank you from my last post was for Brunetter, btw.

And Audrey...*shakes head and buries face in hands*
A good kind of undoing, indeed.

Bit disappointed...

I was under the impression we were celebrating Silent Bob. You know: The person of a few words.

Oh well, Rob will have to do, then.

Thank you kindly, Cajun Man.

You too, Medea's Child? *sigh*
Aw, thank you very much, darlin.

Thanks, Pucette; you'll get there too. You just...undoing?? I've got a feeling that my undoing is going to happen without me having a chance to prepare.

Heh, thanks omni. Sorry to dissappoint (though I miss Bob, too).

Hehe, thanks Gunslinger. I do what I can.

Oh, hey there Silver Fire; so good to see you. And get a smooch from ya, too. *smooch*
I finished the killer essay and you'll be getting some mail again pretty quick.

LOL, right on, Totoro. There are apparently t-shirts out there with that on them (I'm on the look-out). It makes sense, though: how can you kill the Grimace when you don't even know what it is?
And you're very welcome.

Well, I suppose it is a b-day of sorts...a posting b-day.
Thanks, Odie!

Heh, no, I did not order snow. Geez, it looks like it's all cleared up, then there's a big storm, then it clears up some, and now...bah!

Just realized I was lurking this thread. It's Audrey's fault for plotting things - it gets my morbid imagination going.

Anyway, happy 1!*

You realize we both have a long way to go before we catch up with her, right? Let's go see some artsy films and start long, post-padding threads about 'em. She won't get 'em in HI, and we'll have a nice, albeit temporary, advantage.

*Thanks to Sweet Sue for the idea.

Bwahahaha! That's great. Maybe we can put a dent in her lead.

Heh, Audrey, aren't you the one planning my "undoing"?

Even if you two combined your post counts, you'd barely be within my range. So stop it.

And yes, rob, I am planning your undoing. That's relevant... how?

Oh, gloating and telling us to "stop it"? Sounds like you're nervous, darlin.

Well, you're the one complaining about "conspiring."
