When Romney Wins....

How long will it take for Obama to concede?
I don’t think it won’t happen on election night.

I would bet that Obama is an honourable gentleman, he would wait for certainty, but once is obvious he would do the neccessary.

I would also be willing to bet that he is not a “rules laywer” but would honour what the electorate says.

Obama will concede only when it is apparent that Romney has a majority of electoral votes whatever the popular vote.

I think he’ll concede at the proper time. Frankly, I don’t think he’s all that into another 4 years.

I’m more concerned about what Obama will do when monkeys start flying out of his butt.

Is that a personal theory or have you been watching the “body language experts” on the news? (Speaking of which, what exactly do body language experts do for work when it’s not an election year?)

They take your order and tell you to drive to the next window.

Er, so you do think it will happen on election night?

Voting is the best revenge.

I don’t think it won’t happen either.

But do you not think it won’t NOT happen? That’s the real question.

I do not think it won’t not happen neither; however, the nonoccurrence of the nonevent won’t not happen on a night that is not the night that is not a non-election day–or not-day (which may or may not be a night).

It’s a tough question. Obama can’t just think about himself; he has to consider the effect his concession will have on all the rioting black people.

how long will take them to reprogram a concession into the Romneybot?

If Romney wins, will he take his oath on the real Bible, or that fan fiction version they use?

Leaving the odd double negative in the OP aside, I’d say that Obama (or Romney for that matter) will concede as soon as it becomes clear where the EVs are going to go. What would be the point of waiting longer? I don’t see either of them dragging it out just for the fun of it.

Of course, what might happen is something like what happened in 2000, where it’s so close that it’s not clear who did or didn’t win until all of the votes are tallied up and the hanging chads looked at and scrutinized. Depending on who you listen too, this thing is either going to be very close, or Obama is just going to walk away with it. If the former then it might be a long night tomorrow (happily, though we support the voting centers throughout New Mexico, it looks like New Mexico is going to be easily for Obama, so won’t be a long night for me in any case, baring the odd denial of service attack or attempt to hack our system, etc etc).

I saw what you did there.

Nah, I don’t think it won’t happen neither.

(4 negatives! 4!)

I won’t think it don’t happen.

I think the only reason Obama wouldn’t concede on Election Day (or, perhaps more likely, early on the 7th) is a recount situation. Which, according to 538, is about an 8% likelihood.

So since I have no better data, I’ll go with that - 10-to-1 that IF Obama loses he concedes within 24 hours of the polls closing in the last state (Hawaii?).
