Every time I post something, I want my signature to be shown. However, it’s kind of a hassle to have to keep on checking “Show your signature” every single time I post. So is there a way I can make this function automatically checked?
On your User CP, scroll down to Thread Display Options. Look for the box that says “Show Signature” and click it on.
I have that enabled. It still doesn’t work though.
Bear in mind that they have set it up that way to actively discourage people from using their signature with every post.
It’s kinda a “courtesy” rule. Use a sig line once per page/thread.
IIRC, from previous discussions of this:
(1) This only works for paid members, not for guests.
(2) Including your signature on ALL of your posts is discouraged. ISTR, from a previous discussion, there was a general consensus (or maybe the mods just decreed?) that seeing a user’s signature on EVERY post throughout a thread gets tiresome. The suggested etiquette is to include your sig on your first post in any thread, and not again in later posts in the same thread. (Am I remembering this right? Someone?)

The general guideline is to include your sig once a thread.
ETA: that’s my recollection as well.
That only enables showing the signatures of other posters if they display them.
AU, it’s considered polite here to only use your signature once per thread.

Thank you guys. I’m was just used to other forums where they actually allow you to show your signature every time you post, but I guess the guideline here is to only do it once per thread/page, so that’s what I’ll go with. Thank you for your time.

I think if we are allowed a sig in our posts, it should be in all of our posts. As long as it’s not something huge and stupid.

Not being snarky, but why is a signature important or relevant?
One of the things I like about SDMB is the absence of “likes” and signatures and avatars and other repetitive, extraneous and meaningless faff.
If it were in all your posts, it would be stupid. At least, IMHO.
