Any interest in a spring Chicago Dopefest?

I celebrate my one year anniversary of living in Chicago on April 16. Any interest in another dopefest this spring? I'd strongly prefer any Friday or Saturday from mid April until the week before Memorial Day. I'd also need a place that is accessible by CTA.

Ideally, I like a place where you can order drinks and has food available. We've done Galway Arms in Lincoln Park the past two times. That location is perfect for me, but I understand it is a pain for those who drive.

I'll be there if I can. Most any time or place work for me, if I don't have a conflict.

Potentially, yes. Although I've been embarrassed by unexpected family emergencies preventing my attending the last couple (the problems of a 92-year-old mother-in-law who's a hypochondriac.)

Always enjoyable, count me in if schedule permits.
We should have it at one of these hippie enclaves I keep hearing about.

How about the Dunkin' Donuts at Clark and Belmont? Last time I was there (a few years ago) it was nothing but skinheads and punks on one side of the room, and cops on the other. Quite the eclectic ambiance!

I'm in if the dates work out. I have to say though the Galway is a royal pain in the ass to park around.

There are two pay lots within a block of the Galway - at the Lincoln Park Market and at the Children's hospital.

What about somewhere in Lakeview? Easier parking. Say around the Southporr area? I live in Lincoln Park so that suits me too.

D'Agostino's in Lakeview is a fine casual place with nice red checkered tablecloths and decent pizza. If memory serves, it's at Addison and Southport.

I live in Lake View, so that would be perfect for me. I've only had D'Agostino's pizza at a Cubs game, never been to the restaurant.

D'Ag's it is! As long as the "separate checks" Nazi isn't planning to attend. Somehow I don't think that is one of their strong suits.

I can do Lakeview, so long as we keep it north of Belmont. Southport/Addison sounds fine.

If we're doing Dags, let's pick a non Cubs weekend. Any Friday or Saturday from mid April until late May works for me.

Godwinded already? Someone must be feeling real guilty about skipping out on his check. I hope the seat pissers are there though. Since you brought it up, the shared check came up

$200 short!

All this, of course, presupposes that we have a Spring this year. Wasn't it like 80 degrees this time last March?

WTF?

Dale suggested a spring Chicago dopefest. There seems to be some interest. I suggested he pick a date and time, as he is the one showing leadership in this extravaganza*. What's not to get?

*I was tempted to say "contretemps," but that seemed unnecessarily negative. So I opted for "extravaganza" instead.

Rookie mistake. Quite often, we go right from Winter to the Dog Days of Summer. But let's hope we get an actual Spring this year. Maybe if we're lucky, it will even fall on a weekend!

For what it's worth; yes, I'm interested. If I can make it or not... ahhhh. I live in the far southern suburbs, and I don't drink and drive. A room for the night in the City sounds fun, I guess I'll wait till everyone else decides Where and When.

The Cubs are in town that weekend and the previous one. Parking will go from "none" to "none-squared," and every bar and eatery in Lakeview will be packed. June 28,29 and July 19,20 and July 26,27 they are away.

I believe we were looking in Lake View, someplace not too far from the El. D'Agostino's has been suggested, but I'm open to anywhere in Lake View, just want a place with beer and food and, of course, separate checks
