Why is it that the last time Adam Lanza was seen alive was back in 2009?

Every reporter who spoke about Adam said how the last time anyone could vouch for his whereabouts was 2009. Im on my phone so Im going to charge my ipad and get some news cites for you in a little bit. Reporters stated how he apparently fell off the map, another reporter said he fell off the grid in 2009, no school photos since that time, neighbors stated they hadnt seem him in several years, his own friend who borrowed a game from him prior to that told his mom that nobody knew where he was, the barber who always cut his hair said he suddenly stopped coming in 2009 and they assumed he had moved away…will be back with some cites after ipad charges. Also there was no computer footprint of him, no history, and no cumulative school file. Special ed students always have a large file.
Special ed students stop having files when they leave public school at 17-18, which for Lanza would have been somewhere between June 2009 and April of 2010. It takes little understanding to see why he might have retreated into his home and not been seen by those who supported him in school - even a barber.
Despite what netizens might believe, the vast majority of people have almost no online footprint. I have a friend I have been desultorily trying to track down for a couple of years - I know she’s alive, and working, and active in the community, but other than a bare WhitePages.com listing she has zero online footprint.

Im referring to mainstream media, not some obscure website. Cnn and the like reported he had basically not been seen or heard from since 2009.
19 year olds don’t necessarily have school records, rent payments, utility bills, loans, credit cards*. Heck a lot of them don’t even have driver’s licenses. What grid was he supposed to be on?
(Yes I know many of them can and do have all of these things. Piping in that you had a mortgage, 3 jobs and a car payment when you were 19 is meaningless here.)
No doubt. Go see how many other 18-year-olds “fall off the grid” and report back. Especially those who are mentally ill or compromised or just not very bright; once the pressure of school goes away, slacking on Mom’s basement couch becomes a viable lifestyle for anywhere between 1-20 years. Unless they’re an online fanatic, they may as well be dead or in the Gobi desert as far as all but a handful of people around them are concerned.

That doesn’t mean much. So he doesn’t have an online presence, that they know of, he could have been active with under other names (not like this board where everyone posts under their real names). They sent reporters to town to annoy the neighbors who don’t want to talk about him, and probably purposely avoided him. He wasn’t working, probably sat in his mom’s basement all the time playing video games.
I’m also amazed how little attention the real villain is in this case gets, his mother. Those were her guns, that she kept in the house with her crazy son. She should have been spending money on getting help for her son instead of buying death tools for him to use. I feel very sorry for the surviving son. He must be wondering if he’s got some fucked up genes.
I haven’t heard of him since the first day, when he angrily tweeted, “It’s not me! It must be my fucking crazy brother!”
So while he’s not (evidently) in any way to blame, he was another one who knew the situation (Mom keeps buying high-powered guns for his crazy brother to play with, and tolerating his increasingly violent perceptions)… and may be feeling some combination of massive guilt along with all the other emotions.
I would not be surprised if he truly falls off the grid, changing his name and breaking with his remaining family and past.

I suspect the gist of the OP and any cites he might be working up is that we have an LHO here - the body at Sandy Hook was a double, a patsy, or a reprogrammed zombie.
Completely aside, we made a thoroughly unplanned stop in Newtown this week. Coming home late from DC, we got off at a diner well announcd by billboards, without realizing where we were. At the base of the onramp was a double sign, pointing us to Newtown one direction and Sandy Hook the other. The diner was a hub of memorial items and fund-raising sales (pastries). Already tired from a long drive and some trip troubles, it was very disturbing to find ourselves there at a place that was likely visited many times by every single one of the victims, and probably the Lanzas as well. I can chalk it up to being exhausted, but I was in tears the entire remaining way home. I’m not feeling very sympathetic towards nutball conspiracy ideas probably leading to some black-ops zombie reprogramming false-flag bullshit. Anyone who doesn’t understand that evil walks among us is living in a dream world.
TNo known sightings of him even by close neighbors who did do interviews with media. Close neighbors said they never saw him, ever, …even shy kids have to go out sometime…never a doctor visit, never a haircut, never walked to his mailbox or went for a bike ride, never went outside period in three plus years? No picture or footage of him period?
He was an emotionally disturbed kid; I’m not surprised he didn’t go for a bike ride, or to the mailbox.
Amateur barbarian, Im not sugesting any conspiracy, I just am windering how its posible that nobody, nowhere, saw hide or hair of him since 2009? What does the fact you ate pastries at a diner there have to do with the question of his whereabouts?
There are no pictures or footage of plenty of people. They aren’t going through every security video in town because they already know who did it and how. And again, just because the neighbors who agreed to talk to the press didn’t say anything doesn’t mean he was not seen. I have a neighbor I’ve only seen once in 17 years, there are people living a few houses down that I’ve never seen. It doesn’t mean anything.

Here is the big difference between what my question was, and your answer. My question was why did NOBODY see him in over three, closer to four years? Your answer is that you have a neighbor you never see…here is the thing, maybe YOU didnt see your neighbor in years, but you can bet SOMEBODY somewhere, did.
Of course not everybody saw him in three plus years, but NOBODY?
You haven’t provided evidence that no one saw him. You only have what a reporter said on the air. If you go by that then Zoey Deschanel was one of the Boston bombers.
I daresay that if you asked my neighbors about me, they wouldn’t have a thing to say about my comings and goings, and vice versa. I don’t know my neighbors from Adam and if you asked me when the last time was I’d seen any of them go out to the mailbox, I wouldn’t have an answer for you.
A quick google search finds that his uncle saw him in June 2012.

You haven’t established that as a fact. You have established that he had no identifiable online footprint and that the neighbors interviewed by CNN said they hadn’t seen him since he finished high school. That is at best a partial datum, and is unlikely, in the end, to be true.
As I and others have said, It is entirely explicable that he became very reclusive after no longer needing to show himself at school every day, and being coddled by a mother who let him hide indoors over his computer and gun collection. The number of people who could be said to “be seen by nobody” in this age and affect range are countless. He was a mentally ill, or at least affected, small-town nobody who mattered to no one outside his family. Exactly who is it you think should have been seeing him regularly?
