Fired! For Turning Head On A Live Game At A Casino?

I have a job interview, yadda 2 copies of resume, no tats above neck, ;p

But does this company axe you for this? Agreed gambling is serious bucks but

The guy that was fired was an ex-cop, motorcycle on duty et-al…

Context?

I’m going to fire you for not providing a link.

This thread is rated EF for Epic Fail.

You’re FIRED!

Okay, how about just telling us what “turning head on a live game” entails.

It’s also rated NC-17: 17 people so far have found the OP to be Not Coherent.

I’m guessing a Pit Boss or Security Guard on the floor of a Casino was caught watching a live sporting event at the Sports Book rather than watching the customers. And that this fired employee used to be a cop, and (Spoiler?) owns a Harley.

I’m failing to guess what this has to do with the OP’s job interview, resume copies, tattoo placement, etc.

I must say, my guess on the join date of the OP was off by about 4 years and 7 months…

I can understand why someone would be fired for giving head to an ex cop at a casino.

What? He what now?
Never Mind.

I can see it happening.

A friend of mine used to work as a dealer at an Indian Casino here in Michigan. She was trained as a Blackjack and Baccarat Dealer. She was told that she must keep her eyes on the playing table at all times, even when there are no players at the table. Apparently dealers are responsible for all chips on the table, so if her her gaze is turned away from the table for even an instant, it is an opportunity for someone to steal chips from the table, which is an offense for which she could get fired.

Dragwyr has it right. Casino floor personnel are under absolutely draconian rules about dress, movement, attention and actions. There are any number of very small things that can lead to losses for the casino, either from alert and savvy players or dealers (or pit bosses) taking advantage of a moment’s lapse. For instance, a dealer is never supposed to know when the pit boss’s eyes are on them, so the simple act of glancing back into the pit, even under their arm, can be a firing offense. Besides the fact that a dealer shouldn’t care where the pit boss is, it’s a moment a player can swap cards or adjust their bet.

Sounds like he really got his dog burned on this one.

I’m sorry, but even with other people trying to put some context on the OP, I still have no idea what happened. Who got fired? And how does a motorcycle fit in?

It’s Vegas man. You don’t mess around. You just don’t.

I’m as lost as Little Nemo. I still have no idea what’s going on here. The OP is just too confusing.

Agreed. All his base are belonged to the casino.

My interpretation:
The title is pretty straightforward: “Can you be fired as a casino dealer for turning your head on a game in progress?”

“I have a job interview with a casino, among other expected accessories I will be bringing two copies of my résumé, and meet their appearance and grooming standards.”

“However I have been told that they fired a dealer over the infraction laid out in the thread title. I understand the demands and stakes involved in the business of casinos, but feel this is a bit strict.”

“Said former employee had previously been a police officer so he understands the issues behind a job like this,”

“Said gentleman even rode a motorcycle in the course of his job and (whispered aside) owns a particularly large, stylish heavyweight model of motorcycle manufactured by Harley-Davidson.”

Am I close?
