My name is Kevin McKeever and I’m a casting producer with LES Casting. I checked with the staff of The Straight Dope and obtained permission to post the following information about a new documentary series we are casting for.
Are you estranged from your family and want to reconcile?
Have you committed a violent or immoral crime or betrayed the people you love most? Do you want to confront unresolved issues and finally make amends to earn your families forgiveness? Do you want them to finally hear your side of the story?
A major cable network is now casting people who seek forgiveness and want to repair burned bridges. If you live in the NY/NJ/CT Tri-state area, we want to hear your story and help you reconnect!
No matter how dangerous or unforgivable your betrayal may have been, we want to help you finally make things right.
Please email us the following:
Name, phone, email
– Short bio about yourself and your family
– Why are you the black sheep? What happened between you and a loved one?
– Why you want and need forgiveness, and from who.
– A few recent pictures of yourself.
This documentary series will focus on individuals that have already been convicted and have served their time in prison, etc… Now they want to move forward with their lives and reconcile with their families.
If anyone has suggestions as to what forum would be the right place for something like this, please let me know.
Permission was granted from the administrators of this website. I wouldn’t be able to post something like this without obtaining their permission first.
Offhand I can’t recall a case where someone said they got permission from us without actually doing so - most boards aren’t as moderated as this one is, so you’d have to do an abnormal amount of background to know you even needed to lie. I can think of cases where people weren’t 100% upfront with us, but that doesn’t seem to be the case here. Anyway-
blacksheep1, I’ve moved your thread to Cafe Society, which is our forum for discussions of the arts. With that I hope we can end the discussion of whether this was done the proper way, since it was.
That’s a relief. My first thought was that this would be yet another sleazy TV reality series exploiting human misery and naiveté for profit, but it’s really all about helping people.
