Aenea was a long time SDMB poster, and many of the old timers on the board will remember her. Some may have known her irl as Janeen Bevan.
She was a great friend to Una and to me, I texted nearly every day with her, although I never met her. Recently she completed a university degree and got a new job that she liked very much and she was happily married and she and her son were very happy.
This year she was diagnosed with lymphoma, and it seemed to be responding to chemo, although she had some issues and side effects and side effects from the things given her for the side effects. A few weeks ago, they found she had a tumour in her brain too and treated that with radiation knife, but it recurred. On Monday she was back in hospital with blood clots and her lymphoma was worse. By Wednesday she had taken a turn for the worse and family flew in to be with her and her family. She died yesterday morning around 3am.
Janeen was a person who helped change my life. She was the first person from the SDMB who I met face-to-face - we went out to dinner, sat in her car and talked, then went to my room and talked for much more about so many things. She helped give me the courage to get out of a toxic relationship and start a new life with Fierra. I spoke with her weekly, still, and have followed her through a long and terrible illness where she kept up her spirits and said she was going to kick ass, all the way to the end.
Una’s post brought tears. Some people are just so … crucial in our lives. Farewell, Aenea, sailed away across the wine-dark sea. May we each take that voyage with the same spirit as did you.
