Last year’s thread

The NFL schedule starts unusually late this year. Because this league tends to draft a lot deeper than others (involving more fringe players), we wait until after the 4th week of preseason to draft. That’s going to be later this year than is typical. Our provisional draft date is Tuesday Sep 8 at 8:30 eastern. If this isn’t viable for you, speak up now.

Attendance is mandatory for the draft in this league. it’s an auction draft and yahoo default values simply cannot draft a viable team in this format. It’s a balance issue having people have an unviable team as a free win on their schedule, so you need to attend the draft.

Please don’t change your name too drastically, and if you do, post it here. It’s hard to keep track of who’s who if people change names every year, and reduces the familiarity of the league. The name you’ve been using, or a name based on your SDMB name is fine.

Divisions will be the same as last year, or with as little reshuffling as possible if we end up taking on new people.

If you can’t make it this year, post about it so we can work on finding a replacement. If you’re interested in playing in this league, submit yourself as a possible replacement.

Not counting the dynasty thread draft, this is the best draft is the year.

Well, it’s definitely longest. That means I have time to finish the whole six pack.

Other than that, I am definitely back in. Also, I am good for the 8th or any other day that week.

Gotta defend that middle of the pack finish!

I’m in. And once again will continue my draft tradition of eating this monstrosity. Though it’s a bummer that they no longer sell them in one box.

Oh.

Saw the draft slot. I’d prefer almost any other day as the 8th is my birthday and I’d planned on being out with my wife or something at that time. Somehow missed it on my first read through. Would another date work? If not, I can probably do something different as a birthday thing.

Just found out I have Jury duty Sept 2nd. It probably won’t matter for this league, and worst case I miss a half an hour at the beginning, but if we move days, a day or two later is better than a day or two earlier for me.

The second Tuesday, second Wednesday, and third Tuesday of my months are booked. I can do the weekend or Monday, and it looks like Thursday is too late. I could also do later (~10pm Eastern), but I know other East Coasters might have an issue considering how long this draft runs.
