I don’t know anything about her, but I presume she went into this marriage and this family voluntarily. Perhaps her eyes were dazzled by the celebrity, and/or she had already absorbed those born-again values, but I don’t have much sympathy for the self-deluded.

I wonder how this will affect thechild-abuse documentary set to air Aug 30 where, with the Duggar’s input supposedly, focuses on child abuse and recovery/treatment(s) thereof.

The “self-deluded?” If you did know anything about her, you would know that she was raised in the same patriarchal environment where the man is the head of the house and women are taught to be subservient and to stay at home having as many babies as possible. She married him when she was just 20 years old with zero life experience and no friends outside her family and church. Josh had to get permission from her father to begin “courting” her and they couldn’t even be alone without a chaperone before they married.

My schadenfreude was tempered a bit thinking of the poor wife. The internet tells me her youngest is only a month old. I feel more sorry for the girls than the boys in that family. They’re raised to believe their only destiny is to be wife and mother, and they’re married off and popping out kids so early that’s there’s little chance they’ll discover they have so many more options. Anna seems like a sweet, somewhat simple girl and she’ll be paying more of a price for this than her husband will.
