Summer is over and we’ve got almost three months until the Holidays begin for winter. I’ve got 40 lbs. more of me than I had in high school all those years ago. I really don’t need to lose all of it, but you got to have goals, know what I mean?
The Halloween candy is out, and caramel apples, which will just lead into Thanksgiving food and Christmas cookies and treats. I bet I gain, but I will go back on the straight and narrow in January.
I’ve lost 19 pounds since June 8 (13 weeks). At that rate, I should be able to lose another 19 pounds before Thanksgiving. Thanks for giving me an interim goal.
I’m just starting training for a kettlebell Tactical Strength Challenge, so working out three-four times a week, plus ballet once or maybe twice a week, should take care of some of my extra weight as long as I clean up my diet. I’m not making a pounds-lost goal, though, because I’ll be gaining muscle in the process. I would love to get back into single-digit jean sizes, so that’s my goal - from size 12 to size 8. (I spent most of my life as a 2 or 4, then I turned 45 and the hormones went wacky.)
I’ve never bothered to set goals, but I’ve lost about twenty pounds on the I-can’t-afford-fast-food diet, combined with the I-don’t-have-a-car exercise regimen.
I’ve lost 30 pounds since June 1st. By the end of November, I should be down another 15 to 20. I’ll settle for fifteen, which would put me under 200 pounds for the first time since 1976. Game on.
I am down 90 lbs since I got serious about losing weight a couple of years ago. I am within 5 lbs of the weight I got married at in 1993. I would like to lose 5 more lbs, but my actual goal is to maintain my current weight.
OK, I’m in, too. This is gonna be fun (I hope.) My goal is 10 lbs. I have hashimoto’s thyroiditis, and most of the time it is nearly impossible for me to lose weight (super easy to gain it, though) so I’m trying a new approach. Here’s to making the weight of the Earth 10 lbs lighter by Thanksgiving! Think it will affect the orbit?
I’ve lost 80 lb over the last 15 years, so in five weeks between now and Canadian Thanksgiving, I hope to lose 5 oz. I will gain 2lb over the thanksgiving weekend. And then lose it.
I was up on the ol’ extension ladder this past week, cleaning the gutters. My wife was down below, holding it so I wouldn’t go toppling. Ten minutes into the project, she casually hollers up to me that I am 15 pounds over the ladder’s recommended weight.
So…let’s go with 15 pounds.
FTR: I’m 6’5" and 240 pounds, the heaviest of my life, mainly because I have become pretty undisciplined in my eating over the past six months. The plan now is to simply get disciplined again-- a low saturated fat, low cholesterol diet. That’s always kept me at a comfortable weight. Hopefully it returns me there.
Funny thing, in college, I would slurp down 2500 calorie shakes a 4-5 times a day and lift weights constantly, eat whatever I desired, but just couldn’t crack 180 pounds. I hovered between 170 and 178. I desperately wanted to gain weight. And look at me now…
I am 6’4" and 250 lbs now. Not too bad but I am ashamed of how I look right now. Facebook sucks. So many girls are still supremely hot.The meme that all the hot girls and cheerleaders get fat as soon they get married is a complete myth.
