Best Canadian RPM Number 1 Singles: 1982

Which one of these 20 songs would you vote for?

Rush is the only Canadian artist in 1982 to have a #1 single, ending the drought seen in 1980-81.

Highly encourage you to vote in the older polls.

You may vote for more than one song.

Six Songs:

“Centerfold”
“Tainted Love”
“I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll”
“Don’t You Want Me”
“Ebony and Ivory”
“The Look of Love”

The last song is not even ABC’s best song, but it is passable.

Tainted Love, Hard to Say I’m Sorry,* Eye in the Sky, Down Under, and Gloria get my vote. In dead-ass last place in the world-famous Ponch8 Music Rating System is Rush. I’ve never understood the appeal of that band.

*This song got my vote based on its pairing with “Get Away.” Some suckass stations didn’t play “Get Away” after “Hard to Say I’m Sorry.”

Abaracadabra, Dirty Laundry, Don’t You Want Me, and Eye of the Tiger

Excellent year. I voted for:

I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll - Joan Jett and the Blackhearts
Don’t You Want Me - Human League
Abracadabra -** Steve Miller Band**
Eye Of The Tiger -** Survivor**
Eye In The Sky - Alan Parsons Project
