SW Clone Wars cartoons: which series is better, '03 or '08?

Thanks for the opinions, all. I’ve watched the first 5 episodes of the '08 series and so far I’m “eh”. It’s closer to Saturday Morning Cartoons than I would like with the overly emotive narrator. Grievous wavers between being a kick-ass villain and a buffoon. The Jedi will spend lots of time fighting hand-to-hand with one robot and then wave their hand to destroy a bunch of robots using The Force. Why not just do that every time?

And why, for &*$@# sake, does the Republic leave the only hospital ship on the edge of battle without any escorts?!?!?.

Hah! I love this! As soon as I realized that Ahsoka was an important character I noticed that she was far less dressed than any other Jedi. I looked up her background and she’s supposed to be 14-16 years old which is a bit disconcerting. (If you do a google image search for ahsoka you’ll find some…interesting…results.)

The first season is by far the weakest, they weren’t sure yet if they were a kids show or a show appealing to adult SW fans. Or maybe they weren’t sure how far they could push the envelope, it gets a lot darker than saturday morning fair later on(that slave planet arc was pretty damn dark).

Aayla’s garb is similarly stipperific. The other two female Jedi I can think of – Barris, a padawan, and her master, whose name I can’t recall – were more modestly garbed.

And before her costume change, Ahsoka is supposed to be about 11 or 12. It’s one of the many reasons George Lucas must be confined to the Phantom Zone.

ETA: And yes, the first season is a lot lighter than the following seasons. The Slaves of the Republic arc stands out (there’s a pretty clear implication that Ahsoka’s captor intends to rape her, and that she’s gonna kill him before letting that happen), but the Darkness on Umbara arc and the Obi-Wan undercover arc are just as bleak.

My son and I often wondered that aloud. If I were a Jedi, I would use the Force to bash foes against, or with, nearby heavy objects without fail.

We don’t know how hard it is, though. I know Yoda seemed to imply that to a Force user, moving a large mass was as easy as a small one, but I think we can all agree that that little green bastard was so full of shit he could not possibly have an asshole. And I think it’s canon that it’s easier to Force-move living beings than inanimate objects.

Didn’t or force push, pull, or choke take some time to recover from in the games?

Enjoy Deeg, the series really pulled me in and gets really dark like grude said.

Please check the viewing order on the link I posted above, it made a difference for me.

Naw. Anakin and Obi-Wan seemed to go from Force-hurling away droids, to various athletic leaps and jumps, with no pause at all.
